"Serbs live in south and no one is bothering them."

Ben,

This is the biggest lie I have ever heard. Unless of course you don't consider constant assaults on Serbs, routine thefts of cattle, tractors, or farming equipment, the desecration of churches (and I do not mean back in 2004) and some unsolved homicides. The Albanians living out near Leposavic and Zubin Potok are left very much alone - but in the south the Serbs do not get the same treatment. Just look at the protests yesterday by Albanians because of a few Serb returnees looking at their property in Vucitrn. Look at the protests last week because of Serbs returnees in Djakovica, or in Gnjilane last month.

How about the 5 Albanians that were caught tunneling under the church in Prizren last month to loot the graves? How about the routine desecration of Serb cemeteries? I guess you have not been to the Albanian cemetery in N. Mitrovica but I can tell you it has not been touched.

Your Kosovo must be different from everyone else's.

Ben,
the only logical conclusions one from your figures of 10M, 2M is that Kosovo is a part of Serbia, and that there is a minority of 2M Albanians living in Serbia.
Okay.
(BobbyLafea, 3 September 2009 21:54)

We would say you discovered the hot water.

The issue is can you abuse and treat as second class citizens your minority?? Can you expel them from home?? can you kill and rape them? Destroy their houses??

If you do that than your minority can say adios to you.

Darfur is minority in Sudan so what??? We should leave Darfur under the mercy of Bashir and his next friend that will follow him??

The modern world recognizes the right to separate even without the consent of the counterpart: you won’t find a judge that will rule that the wife cannot get the divorce since the husband doesn’t agree with that. No never.

Moreover the modern world guarantees the rights and dignity of the human life even towards child parent relation. If a parent abuses with the child she/he can lose the right on child.

So if we can take off a child from a mother go figure Kosova from Serbia or Darfur from Sudan. It's the easiest and most simple thing.

But if you want to support the idea that is you are small and weak (as minority vs majority in a country, or wife vs husband or child vs adult) your values are the one of the jungle the big fish eats the small fish and that is your personal problem.

Let's see:

(Mike, 3 September 2009 17:34)

Let's see:

Serbs live in south and no one is bothering them. They can stage protests and block roads in villages 5 min from Prishtina. They can refuse to work for over 1 year for the Police of Kosova and they will be paid again. They can refuse to pay their bills for over 10years and is you start asking them some money that is a violence and ethnic cleansing.

On other hand, you have Albanian minority in north that if he wants’ to RE-buld his destroyed house (the capital RE are for purpose there) and you will find the Serbian mobs that will attack them. They should ask for permission to RE-build their houses.

From a non-nationalistic point of view after the Kosova War a majority of Kosovar minority (serb) moved to northen part of Kosova.

The Serb community fears that Kosovars (Albanians) will become a majority and rule over them. For this reason all the bickering has been about rebuilding and bringing Albanian IDPs back into their homes in northern Mitrovica.

Pristina will regain sovereignty over that dark spot of Kosova. At first no KP (Kosova Police) were operating in that area, now there are KP officers. No courts operating, with the help of EULEX we have the courts up and running.

This is recognized by all reports of UN Sec. General, UNMIK, EULEX. In all reports of UN Sec. General the only issiue of freedom of movement of people in Kosova is the Albanians freedom of movement in north- and this is repeated in ALL reports of UN Sec. General to UN SC meetings.

The only one that is not yet admitting that the situation is out of controle is the Gov.t of Kosova's. And it's clear why Prishtina is not admitting this fac: if they do than they will have to take measures and restore order. But they cannot do that since they don't have to OK from the international commnity and above all fear that any such action will slow down the recognitions. Perheps thay should think that instead such an action may be viewd as functional state- not it looks more as wanna be state.

But the core of the problem is finding a durable solution.

Mitrovica and many other parts of northern Kosova was ethnicly cleaned and now Albanians there are minority. K-Gov.t mus create conditions of safety that these people go back to their homes and reposses with their lifes- this is the only unsolved issiue of freedom of movement in Kosova recognized in ALL reports of Ban Ki Mun.

On other hand one must recognoze the fact that Prishtina's authority in Leposavic, Zubin Potok and Zvecan is unwanted. Thus these parts can be exchnaged with Serbia for the Presheva's valley- where the Serbian authority is unwanted.

Of course some tiny mines in north must belong to Kosova for the simple fact that Kosova is poor while as we hear from our Serbian firends here Serbia is Eden on earth- so it will not regret too much for one or two mines.

So when are our ethnic Albanian citizens going to allow Serbians to return to their homes in Southern Mitrovica and elsewhere? Isn't Kosovo supposed to be multi-ethnic? That seems to only exist in the Serbian parts.

I sense our ethnic Albanian citizens becoming disillusioned with this whole "Kosova" myth and their response is to escalate tensions. Now that is not good for the province or region.

There are hundreds of thousands of ethnically cleansed Serbians waiting to return home and the "internationals" seem to be wasting resources on rebuilding a few houses. It seems their priorities are all messed up.

Let's see:

Serbs south of the Ibar live among Albanians, keep a low profile and for the most part avoid conflict.

Albanians north of the Ibar live among Serbs, raise bloody Hell, and exacerbate ethnic tensions.

Who can't live with whom?

NSlowly but surely Pristina is gaining footing.

No my friend, EULEX is gaining ground.

There is no Kosovo republic. Don't act so childish. Holland and Serbia are STATES. Kosovo and California are provinces. It is not that hard to understand.

Until you step on the wrong foot. And you will. It’s just matter of time. Then you will give back 100 feet for every foot you have gained.

The northrn part of Kosova is out of controle.

You're a fine one to talk about freedom of movement.
Who is living behind barbed wire? The Serbs, that's who.
The Serbs in the south. They need NATO escorts to church and school. Imagine, school. This means that not even Serbian children are safe from you and you have the audacity to talk about freedom of movement.
