Moldova's rebel Transdniester region said its place was with Russia despite the victory of pro-European parties in a Moldovan parliamentary election last month.

EU (formerly EEC) was founded after WW2 to prevent hostility between former enemy nations and create stable economic growth by coordinating coal, steel etc production, freedom of movement of people, goods, services and capital.
Exactly the things that was non accessible to Eastern European countries occupied by USSR.

It's funny how this guy is President of this little country, calling for independence, but was born somewhere in the Far East.
