The U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan delivered his long-awaited assessment to his bosses in Washington and Brussels, but the document's being kept secret.

General McChrystal writes that "the situation in Afghanistan is serious, but success is achievable." The general is quoted as saying success will require "a revised implementation strategy," as well as commitment, resolve, and increased unity of effort.

Although General McChrystal let the cat out of the bag, as far as the war in Afganistan is concerned, he
is far more economical with words in making the point that the end of NATO in Afghanistan might be near, that a change of strategy is no longer relevant, and that the capability to intelligently articulate a useful strategy in Afghanistan may also be fast disappearing.

New troop surges ,revamped strategies won't have any effect on the war effort.The fat conservative voices in US that supported the war have already started singing withdrawal.
