dim tuc, your comments are usually fairly sensible, but what you wrote there is complete nonsense. regardless of what happened to albanians who gathered here they have no right to demonstrate against serb individuals visiting their hometown. it is obvious that these albanians are not protesting against the serbian state, but against people of serb ethnicity who are themselves from kosovo and who these albanians in spirit of multiethnicity that kosovo supposedly represents should welcome back and not tell them "we don't want you here". whoever manipulated these people into protesting against the visiting serbs deserves condemnation.

gjakova is one of the city where most miserables crimes have been committed and where hundred of our children are missing.
coming in gjakova at the eve of the international missing day is du plus mauvais gout,at least!
eulex should have postponed this visit in gjakova. But they did not.
Because they are just working hard to have a new mess in kosova....Why is the question?
What are they trying to do ?that is the question

Svojgazda, yes, the Kosova authorities should also do much more to shed light on the crimes committed against Serbs and about the missing Serbs (though frankly I’ll believe the “organ” stuff when I see evidence). Why does that make my “accusation”, as you put it, about the well-documented, massive crimes against Albanians carried out by official Serbian state organs “a bit odd”? Personally, I don’t hold the view that either side is justified in using the others’ crimes to justify their own foot-dragging on this issue (let alone to justify the commission of further crimes). Even though however you look at the crimes of the Serbian state were both of a much higher magnitude, and were crimes of the state rather than, in the Albanian case, largely the crimes of individuals and small groups outside of official control (at least officially).

But the issue here was a demonstration by Albanians who had lost relatives. In my opinion, they had a right to demonstrate, but not to attempt to blockade. They were wrong to blame that particular group of Serb visitors for crimes without evidence. I am please however that they did not go so far as to use the crimes previously committed against them to carry out violent crimes against the visiting Serbs.

Just try to imagine a visit by Albanians to a town in Serbia to consecrate a mosque in a region where there were many K Serbs whose relatives were still missing since 1999, and they held up aggressive signs but did not use violence. Pardon me for believing you would have had a different attitude.

"Ah, the joys of Serbian rule, super modern infrastructure, peace and happiness. You must have missed that little fact that ALL Albanians were fired from state jobs (in a socialist country!)."

Conveniently forgetting the billions of $$$ Tito borrowed from the IMF over the decades to buy off albanian violence (certainly still not enough in 1982 to stop the independence riots when the albanians ruled themselves).

Yes, life was MUCH worse in the SFRY for albanians than in Albania under Hoxa and after. Oh I forgot, the Albanians were first in the balkans (Iilyrians) so everybody owes them something!

Again, albanians rule themselves but rather than holding their own corrupt leaders and war criminals to account, they prefer to lash out at everyone but. Get a job like everyone else.

Who if not Albanians have rule in Kosovo since 1974?? Who consists Kosovo Parliment in 1989 - Parliment who APPROVED changing in Serbia constitution during Milosević?? Mayby ethnic Serbs were presidents of Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo and chairmans of Kosovo Executive Council?? Who were Kosovo Autonomous authorities during anti-serbian violence in 80's??

so how many Serbian paras, MUP or army thugs are in jail for the massacre of some 12,000 Albanians? Can anyone tell me, how many has Serbia arrested?

DimTuc, a bit old about your accusations regarding Serb alleged war crimes in Kosovo. Why don't you ask Thaci and company about missing victims of the war. KLA kidnapped, tortured, took organs from, and killed all ethnicities, including fellow Albanians. Maybe KLA can shed light on where the missing are?

"Although the protesters blocked the street, Serbs managed to leave Đakovica after the liturgy, with strong Kosovo police, KPS, presence"

Top marks KPS, another fine job keeping the peace.

(Incidentally, such unfortunate incidents might be avoided in future if these unfortunate people who have lost relatives got some compensation from Belgrade, admission of state guilt for the crimes of 1999, and some information on the 2000 still missing, many of whom may have been found if the search for bodies inside Serbia hadn't come to an abrupt halt back in 2002 after the first thousand or so had been found in refrigerator trucks and police compounds).

That reminds me about a joke.

Gjon to his wife:

- "There is electricity all day, no garbage on the street and people have jobs!"
- "Bad, bad news woman! Give me my rifle, Serbs are back!"

And they will to rebuild Albanian homes in North Kosovo?? So K-Serbs from North don't need criminals from KLA here. They should go away.
