-- Know the people who write here, I'd say his lawyer for "collaborating with Belgrade".

Obviously this was done to prevent Serbs from returning. The Albanians FALSELY accuse him of crimes. There's no evidence at all for these crimes.

He's now too upset and goes to Belgrade. Albanians are content he's not in Kosovo. An Albanian lawyer gets money for the non-case.

The Serbs FALSELY accuse Albanians from Bujanovc, or the crimes they have never comitted.

This was a very pathetic investigation to begin with... this case comes down to an accuser who had ulterior motives for accusing this young man. Can we say "property dispute," anyone? I stated that he would be released soon on a previous post, but I was surprised to see it take this long.

If there were hard evidence that he committed a war crime (which there was not, hence the release) then I would be all for his arrest and prosecution. A war crime is a war crime and should not go unpunished. This case was anything but a war crime and I suspect it was also meant to deter returnees, though this is only my opinion. Glad to see he is free. He has good legal standing to file a lawsuit against KPS for false arrest and defamation.

Dear nikshala,
In normal countries people get arrested based on EVIDENCE not based on ‘hearsay’. Especially when the alleged crime is ‘war crime’. And in volatile situations like the one in Kosovo, it has to be emphasized even more. This accusation was so clearly without any merit from the start, that it beggars belief anybody could actually utter words ‘war crime’ in relation to it.

By just pointing a finger at someone and saying "he/she committed war crimes", does not constitute enough evidence to arrest a person. This poor man was held in custody for the purposes of headlines and intimidation. Eulex must put at end to this "he said, she said" approach to solving crimes. It only makes them, and the KPS, look incompetent. BTW, in the real democratic legal world, you need more than the finger pointing of a former neighbor to be arrested for a supposed crime.

I would like to know why would he have to report to the KPS on a daily basis until 11th September? Based on what charge? That is just one more of the intimidation tactics so obviously used by the aforementioned KPS. In normal countries this man would be able to seek compensation for what has been done to him – either from the ‘state’ or the individual that wrongly accused him! War crimes, indeed! Sad, very sad...

Ask his lawyers or family. Compensation? Like the 10 Albanians that were living in Presheva all the time until Serbia decided that they had committed crimes 10 years ago? http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?mm=12&dd=26&yyyy=2008

What are you on about?! In every country in the world people get arrested on suspicion of crimes....and if they are deemed to be innocent due to lack or evidence they are then released with no compensation! Otherwise no policeman would ever dare to arrest anyone............

Are Kosovo police really that stupid? He will NEVER return to Kosovo because he knows he will face justice. Extremely dissapointed that they released him before investigation was over. By the way, his lawyer was Albanian which means the conditions of ethnic group are not that bad.
