"But as you say and we all know they are alive and kicking and contest the authority of Prishtina even in villages 5 min from Prishtina and no one is harming them for that."

-- And you know why? Because most Albanians just don't care. They don't care that the north is out of their reach, and they equally don't care about what I lovingly refer to as a "veliko malo selo" just outside Pristina. The Swedish soldiers guarding Gracanica have probably the cushiest job in the region. One stands in front of the monastery while the rest of the company are in a kafana. So if most Albanians don't care, I wonder why there's some many here that feel the need to take them over.

Swedish soldiers are guarding gracanica day and night and i mean both 7 centuries old monastery and serbs. so don’t play silly. as for north there's the bridge. be our guests? in other words the only reason albanian gangs don’t attack and kill serbs is because they don’t dare to. in march 2004 they thought they could. that's all.
40 serbs live in pristina today of 40000 before the ethnic cleansing and they are bused to gracanica every week to buy in the green market. Why? because lynch gangs of Albanians would kill them if they shopped in pristina.
those with a sense of shame just bow down your heads and just think for your own sakes what can the future be for a society like that?

These are without a doubt unconnected to Pristina in any way. I've been to all of them. Aside from the occasional EULEX/NATO vehicle, it's wall to wall Serbia.

Excellent post!

Since we are used here with the Serbian propaganda that K-Serbs live in inhuman conditions, threatened, without dignity etc.

But as you say and we all know they are alive and kicking and contest the authority of Prishtina even in villages 5 min from Prishtina and no one is harming them for that.

If it wouldn't be for the policies of your countrymen there would be more Serbs left to vote. However, Serbs living in exile due to continuous harrassment by Albanians are entitled to vote. Hopefully they will use this right and hopefully all expelled Serbs will return to their native lands when the time is right.
(MikeC, 24 August 2009 15:48)

If it wouldn't be for the policies of your countrymen there would be more Albanian still living today. And you are the one to complain.

I really need to wonder why some Albanians and their supporters are still hung up on Serbian elections in Kosovo. From a strategic point of view from Pristina, voting in Pec/Gorazdevac is insignificant and voting in Gracanica is a reality they have to deal with. Even if only 20% of Serbs voted in these elections, 0% vote in Albanian-sponsored ones.

first and foremost Serbia has left Kosovo in 1999 and K-Albanains have nothing to do with that. K-Albanians were themselves scatered in sorrounding countries and Europe.
K-Serbs in Serbia are the worst loosers in here, they have sacrificed everything for Serbia just for Serbia to let them down. They dont even have a status in Serbia.
They will not go out and vote since Serbian parties offer them nothing new, just like you.
The other part of Serbs left in KS are even left out of the White Schengen, can you imagine.

In November there will be real elections organized by legal authorities with professional people and monitored by international organisations such as OSCE.
(ben, 24 August 2009 11:54)

Ben,

How can these elections be legal, as the whole Kosovo independence is ILLEGAL!

Please check 1244. And please never again mention Kosovo independence as long as 1244 is valid!

You act like a small child! People like you make us in the West dislike the Balkan more and more!

No more new states, no more new borders!

You will repeat voting from 100 times if you continua to leave the organization of elections to villagers.

(ben, 24 August 2009 11:54)

So?? K-Serbs elected their leaders - like in last year election. Do You remember last yer declarations of UN an EU?? They called elections "illegal" and pledging not to negotiate with the elected officials. And today?? UN and EU officials cooperate fully with serb leaders elected last year. Similar will be in Gračanica and Goraždevac.
