Firstly, if Geography has nothing to do with it, then the good name of the North Atlantic Ocean should not be besmirched by such an evil organisation as that of NATO.

Secondly, I believe that Serbia has declared herself to be neutral and so she should. I feel that Russia has been a greater friend to Serbia than the US/UK have ever been.

Thirdly, it was NOT Devalera's policy to allow into Ireland any Nazi WW2 'criminals'. Some German WW2 veterans did settle in Ireland but very many top brass Nazis went to the US and UK and other Western European countries after the war. (The Werner von Braun gang comes to mind)

To Michael,
Regarding your comment on Ireland's position in the Atlantic and not being part of NATO. Firstly geography has very little do do with membership. Secondly as a proud Irishman, as am I, are you forgetting another vital fact....The Republic of Ireland is neutral! I'm not aware Mr.Tadic has declared Serbian neutrality yet. Also bare in mind that neutrality is very subjective, consider Devalera, the man who opened Ireland's doors to Nazi war criminals after WW2. A fact that I am sure you and I are both ashamed of. Hvala!

Why on earth would Serbia need to send an ambassador to NATO?
My country (as far as I know) doesn't have this and we are NOT a member of NATO although we are actually in the North Atlantic Ocean.

I believe there is something rotten in the state of Serbia when her government seems to be trying to join the same military force that attacked, murdered, raped and slandered her just a very short time ago.

As an Irishman who loves Serbia, I would ask her government to represent her people and respect her dignity.

According to my point of view, this move is a total shame for Serbia.

You base your whole diplomatic effort to prevent further Kosovo recognitions, onto the fact that Kosovo was illegally and by force, stolen from Serbia. And at the same time, you settle diplomatic (and other) relations with the stealer and the one who committed the illegality!!

Who do you think you can convince with that?? How are you going to say to other countries "please don't acknowledge this illegal move against Serbia" by recognising Kosovo, when you seem to wish relations with the ones that commithed this crime and are still today pushing forward to complete it (by pushing the whole plannet recognising Kosovo)?

Total shame for Serbia... the Kosovo game is (unfortunately) already lost for Serbia simply because your government doesn't have the "guts" to stick on a policy baced on justice (both theoretical and practical as well). Nobody can help you out when you don't want to help yourselves.

Why does Serbia need an ambassador to NATO? Sounds like NATO are desparate to get Serbia on board and this government is too limp to tell them where to go.

Serbia has already got one ambassador to NATO. His name is Dmitry Rogozin. But in any case two ambassadors are better than one.

"The government has appointed Branislav Milinković as Serbia's ambassador to NATO"

Why?

I guess this government has a very short memory!
