To #10 Estonian ex KFOR officer.
Well done and thank you for your honesty.
I hope more ex KFOR people now come forward and tell the truth about KiM.
I would particularly ask that my country's troops break their long silence and inform the Irish media about the entire Kosovo fiasco.

Want to stop the flow of drugs? Unlikely. EULEX and the UN all government agencies (Albanians and Serbs) want their cut. This will be an effort to organise the drug/prostituion (anything that money can be made on) activity. The benefit of this new relationship will be fabulous drug busts. People saved from merciless human traffickers (look for a rescued at sea story in the times to come). Additional benefits from fewer gangland killings, because if you are part of the system, you report those that are not, drug dealers etc. get their upstart competiton removed and the police have a wonderful story for the population to consume.
So, don't worry everybody that uses drugs and child prostitues, prostitues, and slave labor, nothing will change.
Hey, anybody remember the gas embargo on Serbia in 95? I was in Subotica then, people were still driving their cars. German friends in Germany could not believe that when I told them. They thought things were at a stand still and could not accpet that the UN was letting shipments of gas in. (also saw un humvees at the macedonian serbian border while on my way to Greece by train, like that stopped anything).
Kosovo is the new Wild Wild West where governments from all nations can get their contraband from.

Lav? Oh no, Mike... that is not my beer by any stretch. How about MB?

I agree, the beers are not the best in Serbia. Of the local brews from the Balkans, I guess Niksicko is my favorite. Skopsko is not bad either, though.

Sadly I am not at beer fest, instead I am in Zvecan and N. Mitro this weekend. I think it will be a viljamovka night at the local establishments:)

"You can thank us with a round of Jelens or viljamovka at Trebjesa or Exponto tonight:)"

I'm more of a Lav person when I go to kafane. Though truth be told, I have to admit Serbs could do better in the beer department. What they lack in beer however is more than made up for in their rakije. However, when in Gracanica I enjoyed some Skopsko, a fantastic Macedonian beer.

Still Jason, it's kind of mean of you to rub the fact in that you're at BeerFest. And here I was coming to like you :)

The EULEX mission headquarters told the daily that “there have been no negative reactions and the final go-ahead is expected to be given from Priština for the signing of the protocol".

It is most probably already signed and the rest is just some sort of cosmetic for the criminals at the head of the local admin not to loose too much their faces....

It looks indeed that Eulex is finally starting implementing the 6 points, Attisari got his medal and his plan is burried!

Am glad that more and more people that have been or are involved on the ground are speaking out loud about what is really happening in the black hole!
I wished to see more "normal" K-A sharing with us their daily experience on the ground and less of these ultra expat nationalists that keep on further damaging Kosovo's image abroad with their low level warriors comments.

Kosovo certainly needs and deserve more than these kind of people "representing" them!
Yes to the right of expression, no the ultra nationalists, which ever side they are!

Coming back to the article, am glad that Eulex is finally starting taking in grip the role they have been assigned too, i.e.implementing the rule of law, but not the one sided law that we see there day after day depending of where the wind blows.

It is quiet stricking to read the comments of this estonian soldier, it looks like it is just a matter of time until more and more will start speaking and at the end it will help the decent kosovo population that are certainly expected more than being run by criminals!

It is even however scrary to ready comments like Busted, yes indeed busted....

Estonian thank you for your writing. unfortunately this is no first step of any kind to benefit rightful owners of our sovereign southern territory. this is eu which is colluding with separatist trying to set up border on the line. and the regime thinks we're supposed to help :) what they really aim to do is have control of jarinje and brnjak. they want to stop smuggling and crime. then why clown around in north, go to drenica. drenica is the capital of crime and of eu/us made frankenstein 'state' not pristina.

What a load of nonsense? It means nothing.

Transfer the mobsters running the Kosovo government first. This is all just pure tokenism - the appearance rather than the substance. It is for media consumption and will be on the 6 o clock news all over the Balkans. Who cares? What difference does it make? None. Serbs will still be killed and terroised and more of their properties will be taken off them.

hi to ALbanian commentators, once I described here my time in KiM in 2004 as mil.intel officer - and no surprise - a such cry-wolf came from ur camp that i could not be in KFOR because of my language skills, that i was lying as K-Albannians had always been like angels etc.
Assuming that this is true what is written in this news, and hopefully it is, then it`s the first step in re-establishing lawful governance of Serbia in its province. We in Europe have got enough of your lies dear Albanians and your victimization mentality. Honestly, after served 10 years in the police and another 10 with army, I have never met such amount of lying and non-cooperative people as Albanians in KiM. You manipulate with numbers of killed civilians in war, what was by they way started by you,you have turned KiM into den of criminals and some sort of S-Arabia`s ideological launch-pad(togetehr with BiH).
i think, as both parties rule out KiM division, firstly the Serbian police should be allowed to go back into areas inhabited by Serbs - in this case it would not be the official division of the province, and should be acceptable for Serb authorities too. And secondly,if the circumstances change more in favour of Serbia, it will up to her, whether to take the whole province back or leave the rest for Albanians - but at least then there would be at least some sort of remedy or starting point for the ensuing negotiations. Albanians - the US will have other problem than to cuddle this criminal statelet and I am absloutely sure that at some point European nations will start to harnessing K-Albanians criminal freelancing too.

I don't see why Pristina is so upset... all this means is that the EULEX police will have better control of the borders to stop smuggling poison in/out of Kosovo (which all honest citizens here will benefit from). I think that some of the criminals in the Pristina institutions don't like being left out of the loop because they cannot use their office to block investigations or influence investigations. Remember the still-missing 42 kilos of heroin from KPS evidence, anyone?

This will help in the north, too. MUP can help EULEX stop heroin from coming in gates 1 and 31 just the same. Transit cities like Novi Pazar can be targeted to put a dent in the flow of drugs....

The current administration in Pristina should like that because it hates competition:)

When criminals are in "government" they are much easier to control due to the fear factor. Either obey or end up like Saddam Hussien.

The problem here is they're authorising the destruction of their own criminal networks so I just hope they don't bite the master.

Ridding the province of these criminal networks would be a big step forward to making the region more prosperous.

To #10 Estonian ex KFOR officer.
Well done and thank you for your honesty.
I hope more ex KFOR people now come forward and tell the truth about KiM.
I would particularly ask that my country's troops break their long silence and inform the Irish media about the entire Kosovo fiasco.
