think Medvedev will come to Serbia and force it to recognize Kosovo. Just like Biden did. That's how important Kosovo is to the world. Kosovo is a true super power that no one can do without. And Kosovos economy is the envy of the world. Also Kosovo albanian girls are sooooo beutifull.

Yep, right, that exactly why after your illegal UDI no one of your cosy expatriates returned to your wounder land... something must be fishy down there....

'Clearly you have never been to Moscow, St. Pete, Volgograd, Krasnodar, or any other place or you would see that the saddest Russian village is paradise compared to Pristina or Tirana.'

Comparing cities may be fair, but comparing Prishtina or Tirana to "any Russian village" is not a good idea. Especially in the days after Biden's recent comments about Russia's demographic and economic problems, which has given journalists something to write about - "Rural Russia dying of poverty, neglect and alcoholism" http://www.miamiherald.com/news/world/AP/story/1173948.html for one example.

This isn't a temporary problem caused by falling oil prices - Russian newspapers were writing about the same problems when there seemed to be no limit to how high oil prices could go. This isn't to say the problems are irreversible, but they certainly haven't been turned around yet, and with the current economic crisis, it's hard to see where the money is going to come from.

Arta,

No Albanian should belittle any country aside from a few sub-Saharan nations... Albania and Albanian-run Kosovo is the poorest and most pathetic part of Europe. Clearly you have never been to Moscow, St. Pete, Volgograd, Krasnodar, or any other place or you would see that the saddest Russian village is paradise compared to Pristina or Tirana. You mocking Russia is like a homeless person making fun of someone else's house!

'Least Serbia has a infrastructure unlike your myth kosova, i mean what do you have to offer the west?'

Kosova has what it had when Murat decided he wanted it - a central point on main transportation routes (and there was no easy road to the Adriatic at that time) plus rich metal deposits. And today, unlike during the Yugoslav years, Kosova can sell its ores directly, at world prices, rather than at state prices as they used to, to Slovenia (which then sold them on the world market).

PRN

The closer Serbia is to Russia the further is from the WEST.

whereas, the closer Kosovo is to the USA the closer is to the EU.

Needless to say,(because everyone knows) but the USA carries more weight in EU decision (even on accession) than the combination of any two countries of the EU.

For Kosovo the way to the EU is not far, especially since the EULEX arrived, which BTW prepares us properly, in order to speed up the process of joininig.

Some things people will understand after 50 years.

"Need I remind you that Kosova was run by Belgrade for 96 years?"

Need I remind you that Kosovo was run by Albanians from 1966 to 1989 and yet still managed to keep it an economic black hole that sucked the financial life out of the rest of Yugoslavia, despite repeated efforts by FADURK to develop the region? Need I also remind you that Belgrade has been out of Kosovo's economc affairs since 1999? What the hell were you doing in that time other than thinking of new and intricate ways to blame your current socio-economic condition on other people?

George,
I haven't seen a comment of yours with the word "Islamic" in there. Kinda weird, no?

--"Obviously you don't know about economics - selling an asset is not bad especially when you can use the funds for something else and when the investor will invest more money to make the asset more efficient etc."

Econ 101, sell, don't give them away when you don't have to. Apparently you don't know what happened with NIS before or after the Russian deal.

--" Don't forget Russia is one of the most advanced nations in the world. They produce some of the best armaments for example."

Weapons, and that's about it.

--"Second, with all this Russian money going into Serbia, Greece and the rest of the Balkans etc, Russia will have an even greater interest in stability and ensuring that, for example, Albanian organised crime and Islamist terror (like the KLA) don't cause trouble."

Russia isn't giving Serbia $500 million a year, EU is. Russia didn't make Greece into a semi-developed country, EU did. Pull out of EU and NATO if you love Russia so much.

"Those who seek peace and territorial integrity celebrate a Russian presence in the Balkans."

Russia is gong downhill--and fast.

They cannot even defend Siberia from the Chinese, let alone expand in the Balkans. Their vast natural resources can't be defended nor explored since Russia doesn't have enough manpower or expertise. Aligning with Russia is so 18th century...
