The issue here is not changing of borders but it is integration which can only happen when the Kosovar government fulfil its citizens obligations. The Serbian, Gorani, Roma minority living in these areas have as many rights as others in the region. People can't just live surrounded by NATO, EULEX, security wire. It is not a war zone. What is needed is law and order and free movement of people but the kosovar government wants tension in the region, a show of force and be picky and bossy. Eventually the EU states will solve the problems there just as before.

K-Serbs live in Kosova and they have to go by the rules of Kosova as well, don't you think so Jeff?

(Kosova-USA, 4 August 2009 17:19)

No one thinks so except you people... Serbia is an actual country with UN membership to prove it. They can handle their affairs internally and crush terrorism if need be. Kosovo is NOT a country and therefore Serbs there have every right to resist the illegal government in Pristina. Got it?

“It is completely unnecessary to talks about these things. Serbia has the complete support of international officials for the policies which we formulated together,”

And Kosova has it for North of Ibar. This is why Presheva started this: exchange of territories or drop it. Remember how Jeremic suggested partition of Kosova on BBC last week? Presheva is saying: Not so fast, what about us?

Basically, no partition.

Sure improving living conditions, fine. But to start your own institutions, forget about it! Serbia shoudn't make the same mistakes Tito did in Kosovo.

You would like to steal more Serbian land woudn't you? More albanian threats? I know, next step is more terrorists attacks if your demands are not met right? Then final step is independence right?

nato is not coming to steal more Serbian land for you this time.

Don't think to much but go and talk to the elected representative of Albanians living in Preseva, Bujanovc and Medvegja if you still consider these people as "your people".

Besim, the Albanians want to live in isolation. If they had it their way, they would totallt separate the region they live in from Belgrade. Don't you see, this is a no win?

Besim

pre 14 godina

The Serbian government needs to address the issue of the Albanian community in that region. If not, the community will live in isolation and tensions will rise again. Serbs by ignoring their demands achive nothing. I mean they are willing to discuss and implement themselves in the serbian institutions. So what is wrong with that. Albanians in Kosovo are insisting the serb comunity there to be part of the kosovo institutions.

Bujanovac and Medveđa are a Serbian majority, and anyway you live is serbia you have to go by the rules the way the world goes not what you want. its just like saying well in California is a Mexican majority we want the american police out and we want to have our own laws, it does not work like that.

Question for Svojegazda.
How do you know it was Albanians that fired the rpg and placed explosoves at Gendermaries building? Any proof on that?

Mike

Dismissing should not be equated with ignoring. The minister can wave away these specific demands as unrealistic and extreme, but a potential problem of a nationally-conscious minority in Presevo is an unavoidable fact and should be addressed. Albanians have an accute way of causing enough of a stir until they get their way and even if Belgrade continues to ignore them, they will undoubtedly receive aid (and a few weapons to boot) from more radical elements in Kosovo Province. So mediation and joint cooperation should not be outright dismissed here.

Those acts were crimes committed in broad daylight to demonstrate anger and protest, Olf. Firing rockets from a hidden place at police officers, and planting bombs to cause random damage and instill TERROR, are acts of terrorism. Do you understand the difference?

For some word "terrorist" describes someone that is in democratic manner expressing himslef.
I an imagine what would some name those that kill UNMIK police officer, burn Embassys in BG and border crossings with KS.

The Serbian Government representative is right - the radical and terrorist elements need to be excluded and the Albanian minority needs to work with the rest of the community.

These so-called "declarations" are not helpful and could be very well destructive for the Balkans and south-east Europe.
