Croatian journalists condemn sacking of cameraman

The Croatian Journalists Association has condemned both the government removing cameraman Ivan Cvirn for <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/region-article.php?yyyy=2009&mm=07&dd=31&nav_id=60853" class="text-link" target= "_blank">wearing an offensive t-shirt </a>and RTL for firing him.

KOSOVARi - Of course you are right in proper terms, because it is obviously unacceptable for a member of a TV crew or a journalist to wear such a T-Shirt, but he should have just been reprimanded.

The reaction is way over the top, especially to sack him, and the politician should have made her point to his employers, not so publicly.

That's why the whole issue of censorship has arisen, because on one hand you have a guy who did something stupid (but funny) and on the other hand you have officials and managers reacting in this ridiculous draconian fashion.

My response is really just to keep things in proportion (and hopefully raise a smile).

I beg to differ. What do you expect when you wear that shirt to a press conference. I don't necessarly agree to get the guy fired from his job, an insult to injury.
