With the so-called sword of peace that the Ottomans marched through the Balkans with, only caused the troubles that we see this day. Under the mask of a peaceful religion they have forcibly converted and perverted the Balkans. No they want a new Green arrow through Europe with this highway through Raska/Sandjak, the EU should say no thank you to Turkey.

It seems unusual to say the least that Turkey should see the building of a highway through Sandzak as a priority. Of course Turkey maintains an interest in events in Serbia as was recently demonstrated when one of the main Sandzak Muslim leaders Uglanin changed his mind about which political party he would support in forming a government coalition. This change of mind from supporting Kostunica's DSS to backing Tadic's DS,came immediately after Uglanin met with the Turkish Prime Minister who in turn had just been contacted by Condoleeza Rice, US Secretary of State. Coincidence? Maybe but this is the sort of stuff that rational observers and not just conspiracy theorists would cite as evidence that Turkey in league with certain Western interests is attempting to direct the course of events in Serbia especially in areas where there are significant concentrations of people who do not classify themselves as Serbs such as Sandzak. It is interesting to note that Turkey is involved in working groups established on building infrastructure in Sandzak, nothing about the Serb municipalities around it. Makes one wonder what the next plan of action is?

Actually, it is Arab "missionaries" or whatever you want to call them that have been trying to spread trouble in the Balkans...not Turkey. That country has little patience for religious nuts.

Also, any countries with minorities in the neighboring countries tend to have frictions on occasion. That's valid pretty much anywhere in the world you go and the Balkans are definitely no exception.

But of course, you as a Balkans policy expert from Australia know better than the local governments.

To your question of where this highway starts and ends...well, obviously it will go through Serbia...and that's all you need to worry about.

As they say, wherever there's a road, development follows and this particular road is being financed by someone else. Where's the problem here?

Wow, Wow, Wow! Why is serbia letting Turks do this? This is a disaster from a FP perspective, why would you want the Turks to have links to people that can't or don't want to assimilate in Serbia?

By the way, we know why they are many Albanians in Turkey, almost all came from Kosova

In order to simply foresee the possible intentions of the Turkish Government, just a simple question: where does this “highway” start and where does it end up?

Turkey - like Iran - helped the Islamic jihadists during the war in the former Yugoslavia and is now visiting a region with a sizeable Muslim presence.

In Greece, Turkey is trying to exploit the small Muslim population in Thrace.

Just a few examples of Turkey attempting to grow the "green (Islamic) corridor in the Balkans.

Europe needs to say NO to Turkey.

I am very much sure and convinced that Turkish Embassy neither Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu would not be permitted to initiate any sort of politically motivated initiatives in the issues involving Turkish community here in The Netherlands.

Once step too too far and not acceptable involvement in the Serbia’s internal affairs.
