Kosovo Serbs suffer due to power cuts

The situation in the municipality of Štrpce, where local Serbs have been left without electricity since July 11, is becoming increasingly difficult.

It's time to pay the bills my good friends, and its better if its payed before Winter.

This is getting really old now. Do you have anything else to say?

It's not a matter of payment but a metter of recognition of your illegal state. You have no right to collect anything from the Serbs. The Serbs will pay to the lawful owners, not you.

Now, Albanians do not want to understand that we Serbs do not recognize their illegal independent state of KOSOVA and will never accept their institutions whose only aim is to expelled all Serbs from Kosovo.

Bravo Štrpce. Zvečan is with You! We will never accept albanian rule on serbian lands!

The interesting thing is that there are more Albanian villages than Serbian villages that do not pay for electricity in Kosovo, but obviously the only problem of Kosovo seems to be relatated to Serbs. A part from that, even though people would pay for electricity, KEK would not have the technical capacities to provide electricity to everyone. So can someone tell me where is the problem here?

A large number of Kosovo Albanians (especially those in Drenica valley and Metohija) had not paid their bills for electricity for more that 60 years to Serbia. What debt Kosovo Albanians have towards Serbia one cannot even imagine. Albanians from Drenica valley, led by Adem Jashari, were connected to power supply system illegally, never paid electr.bills, taxes, etc. and were never disconnected when Serbia ruled the province. Finally, this is how has conflict begun in Kosovo. Power supply company EPS (Serbian) went to collect money and they were killed by Adem Jashari. Next they went with the police and two police officers were killed. Then conflict in Kosovo has begun.

Well, that's how albanians are suffering as well, even that they paid for power so I know it would be hard for serbs since they were not used so and they never paid a bill, so if you pay you will have power simple as that.

Why should serbs in Strpce hand over control over their local transformator station to KEK when it is property that Elektroprivreda Srbija owns???

Time to plan some windpower farms and buy electricity from FYROM instead

Maybe the local Red Cross naively forgets that people in ICRC know much too well that the critical issue is the non-payment of bills. As for willing to pay for the last 2 months instead of the last X number of years...oh how generous. Is there any utility company anywhere in the world who would accept it???

KEK was being subsidized by 150 Mil EUR a year. No more, the government is using that money to build the Merdare - Kukes road. The free lunch is over for all groups.

If Serbia wants, they can use the IMF money to pay the bills (old and new) for the Serbs by writing a check for KEK and by sending Serbs 26 EUR for each month /family.

The "crisis" is self-imposed and the west is tired of sending money. Pay the electricity and you will get it. Serbs don't pay and use it to the max to water their farmland and yards. This costs money!!!
