Tadić: NAM important for Serbia

President Boris Tadić says Serbia's diplomatic battle for Kosovo counts the support of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) as important.

India, Egypt and Brazil might have large economies, but in relation to the populations in those countries, and the amount of them below the poverty line, this is what makes them considered as the 3rd World.

India and Germany's economies are almost the same size in terms of GDP, but the population of those countries differs by over a billion people.

Yes, NAM consists of "third world" countries in its original term.

First world - US and its satillites

Second world - USSR and its satillites

Third world - everyone else.

I suspect the above comment meant "third world" in a more pejorative term of undeveloped and backwards. Though I'd be hard pressed to classify Brazil, Egypt and India as "third world".

Very inspiring indeed: invite heads of 100+ nonaligned states to Belgrade and fight for the repect of human rights in, say, Iran.
In the UN General Assembly several months ago, Serbia has already shown how that can be done.
