You know I always agree with you when you don’t talk about politics.

Cheers !

Yes, you are probably a more tough guy. But I think, adding some healthy criticism to own government adds some credibility. After all, the only ones here who are cheering most loudly are the Drenica fanboyz (Drenica Clan is where "Hashish" Thaci does belong to). What "credibility" they have is an other question. In order to believe them one needs to be either very-very naive or have a lot of peer pressure (from their clan, I mean).

To my previous post: "you" means not R.K., but rather rethoric "third party" who does not care about methanol, sorry if misunderstood.

My dad used it in extensive amounts before we knew and the results were pretty sad to say the least. :(

The topic you mention (aspartame) is pretty serious. Unlike Vodka or Skanderbeu (I have to admit, here I am not patriotic - I like the Albanian booze better) aspartame will produce traces of methanol (not ethanol) in your body. That extra "m" is deadly even in small amounts. Of course tiny amount of aspartame is not enough, but it is proven to have cancerogene effect on rats. The official position in USA and EU is, it is safe for humans.

It is up to you to consume some stuff which generates cancer in rats and breaks down to methanol at body temperature.... but according EUSA food industry is safe for humans. If you trust EUSA food industry. I rather trust honeybee and cane sugar, maybe stevia plant. ;)

I can add to your comments that you cannot make a good drink or any other product using only Stevioside ,Sweety or any other extraction made out of Stevia. It always gives you a spare metal taste which remains long on your teeth. I am not talking about pure Stevia syrop which gives even bigger taste seen in the product even if you add only 10% to sugar or other sweetener you use. I hate Aspartame and it multiple clones but at least one can hide it’s wrong taste. So this particular problem you have mentioned has also a technological aspect. Though in general I agree with you. You know I always agree with you when you don’t talk about politics.

Oh, just keep them coming. I am ready with Tami-flu for the rabbit-flu. Or viceversa.
Some sort of fish - flu would be logical as next.

Kate,

Our high school history teacher passed away because of complications caused by common flu. Common flu should be taken seriously, but no panic.

Here we see panic mongering. I do not support "alternative" theories, it's just plain business. The number of cases in Hungary + exYU is few dozens, Wish them recovery but it's not pandemic. I don't see anything what would we need extra.

BTW: a little pandemic rumor is always handy during financial crisis. Anyone remembers that "bird flu"? Now - out of sudden - there is no bird flu anymore?

I agree that the phramaceuticals usually have their hand in the government pockets of various countries, and also question whether any drug will really be able to fight a flu virus.

BUT swine flu should not be taken lightly. Just yesterday two seemingly healthy people (a middle aged GP and a 6 year old girl) died from the virus in and around London.

Prior to that all of the related deaths appeared to have been people with very serious underlying health problems.

I think that this is very worrying and I wouldn't take it that lightly.

It looks like the business is buming for pharmacutical companies.
(Kosova-USA, 14 July 2009, 12:00)

Absolutely agree on that. Alternative vaccine: kebap with ayran and good tea. With caution and of not driving I can apply "Skanderbeu". In Serbia I use veshalica and shopska. This keeps the swine flu away for good, we do not need that "extra" business of these pharmacutical companies.

The vaccine is made by the same company involved in Aspartame controversy + Donald Rumsfeld

(compare with Stevia - a plant which does not have any U.S. patent so no one can benefit from it except stevia grower farmers)

Arizona congressman Jon Kyl called the FDA action against stevia "a restraint of trade to benefit the artificial sweetener industry.

Luckily, you can get stevia in Silicon Valley for a reasonable price, my wife liked it better than sugar. In Hungary no stevia from Japan, so we use the good old sugar or honey.

In any case we know who is the biggest "swine" in that "swine flu" hoax: the industry producing the vaccine plus the stupid media.
