You provided some fair points there, good arguement!

Just one thing, I disagree with your comment regarding health of the economy, this is one of the three major pillars of the Copenhagen Criteria, which states that one of the criteria for entry as an EU member is:

"the existence of a functioning market economy as well as the capacity to cope with competitive pressure and market forces within the Union"

http://ec.europa.eu/enlargement/enlargement_process/accession_process/criteria/index_en.htm

This is why I say that it will take time for Albania to reach even the standards Romania and Bulgaria reached, but the lack of debt is quite a strong factor indeed, it means that Albania benefits even more from its growing economy than, for example, Croatia.

KOSOVARi

After this post, I doubt anyone here will ever treat you seriously again, but just for your information, Austria, Ireland, Sweden and Finland are members of the EU, but not members of NATO.

Also, there is no mention of Kosovo recognition as being a condition for Serbia to join the EU by anyone.

USA, UK, Germany, & France, are not fond of Slavs and/or Orthodox religion, paving the way for Albanian nation to be the most appreciated.

In two decades, the United States of Albania will run the show in the Balkans. We are heading there.
(PRN, 14 July 2009 14:59)

Oh yes, they hate the Orthodox but the just love the Muslims, especially the Wahaabi ones.
Is that why they want to include Kosovo and Bosnia on the Shengen list?

One need to point out that slowly but surely Albanian nation is becoming the most reliable nation in the Balkans for USA, UK, Germany and France. PRN,

it’s true. Albania has become one of America's staunchest supporters in Europe. And many of us Americans are grateful to Albania for this. We would love for Albania to join the Union of our State. Like that we would enter EU legitimately and with a lot of weight and of course, control some of their biased policies.

PRN says ..”USA, UK, Germany, & France, are not fond of Slavs and/or Orthodox religion, paving the way for Albanian nation to be the most appreciated.”

What arrogance!
Where do you get your information, PRN?

President Barrack Obama met with the Russian Orthodox patriarch during his recent visit to Russia.
He also met with the Greek Orthodox patriarch during his visit to Turkey. Obama, during his speech to the Turkish Parliament, made an explicit appeal for the reopening of a Greek Orthodox seminary on an island off of Istanbul that the Turks closed 40 years ago.

"1. Stop harboring International War Criminals (i.e. Mladic)

2. Join NATO. EU does not have an army, NATO is the military umbrella for the EU member States.

3. Recognize Kosova so that Serbia does not prevent Kosova from joining. If Serbia does not, UK / France / and other 20 EU countries will veto Serbia's entry.
(KOSOVARi, 14 July 2009 21:44)"

Well maybe Mladic is in Serbia, but he isn't being harboured there. Karadzic was handed over very quickly after he was found.

NATO has nothing to do with the EU. Ireland, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Malta and Cyprus are members of the EU and not of NATO.

Individual members of the EU cannot realistically veto Serbia from join in case Serbia itself veteos any future membership attempt by Kosovo. I say this because 5 of the EU members haven't recognised Kosovo and therefore Kosovo has zero prospect of joining the EU at the moment. The EU in general wants Serbia to join.

Serbia will not join EU until it complies with these 3 objectives.

1. Stop harboring International War Criminals (i.e. Mladic)

It is not fair to categorize Albania and the rest of Balkan countries in the same group with Greece. The Greece economy is obviously far stronger that any other country in Balkans but don’t forget the EU support since 80’. I don’t envy absolutely just that is the reality. And what did the other got???? On the other side Greece has also very good army which unfortunately is opposed by another so much strong army like Turkey. (I am neither fan of Turkish army nor Greece.) I wish they never use them against each other.

“Albania is the poorest country in Europe after Moldova, unless you classify Kosovo as a country, then the third poorest, this is why you are not in the EU”

The main condition of EU membership is not the health of economy. There are now examples about it. A strong economy would be first in our interest before joining EU. Otherwise the other countries will attract the workers for better salaries like Romania and Bullgaria. I would like to mention here another fact, the debts of Balkan countries until 2008.

Albania 1.55 (billion US$)
Macedonia 2.758
Montenegro 0.65
Serbia 26.24
BiH 7.057
Croatia 41.56
Bulgaria 29.29
Romania 84.74

Feel free to check them here:
http://www.indexmundi.com/g/g.aspx?v=94&c=al&l=en

Albanian debts are significantly lower than others. So with such amount of debts we could have been by far much better than now. They don’t let you sleep still.

“they have the weakest army in the Balkans, aside from Montenegro (I have no clue why they were taken into NATO, probably just the question of geopolitics and a Western lackey government) and Albanians are the third largest ethnic group in the region, after Greeks/Serbs.”

An obsolete army is not an army at all. We have accepted that fact while the other still deny it. Here are the reasons why Albania was taken into NATO:

1.The country has played a constructive role in resolving several of the interethnic conflicts in south central Europe, promoting peaceful dispute resolution

2.Albania is part of the international force serving in Bosnia (EUFOR)
3. Albanian peacekeepers are part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan and Chad

4.They contributed to the international stabilization force in Iraq prior to its mandate expiring in December 2008. While in Iraq, Albania was one of only four nations to contribute troops to the combat phase of Operation Enduring Freedom.

5.Albania worked with the international community to restructure its armed forces and strengthen democratic structures, including addressing military reforms, in its pursuit of NATO membership.

6.Albania became the first nation in the world to complete destruction of declared chemical weapons holdings under the Chemical Weapons Convention in July 2007

7.Albanian Army has been always a defensive army. It was never used to attack any neighbor country

It is obvious, from Serbian diplomatic actions and this news too, that Serbia wants to be member of EU as well as to continue its Non-Aligned Movement activity too ( which is not excludable and for me actually desirable option, following the fact that we want to join Nato NEVER ) and that is indeed how do Serbia wants to build up its international image.

Serbia will not join EU until it complies with these 3 objectives.

1. Stop harboring International War Criminals (i.e. Mladic)

2. Join NATO. EU does not have an army, NATO is the military umbrella for the EU member States.

3. Recognize Kosova so that Serbia does not prevent Kosova from joining. If Serbia does not, UK / France / and other 20 EU countries will veto Serbia's entry.

Have you heard of a country called Greece, by chance?

They have by far the most powerful economy in the region (making them the best EU partner in the region) and they have by far the most powerful army in the region (making them the best partner in NATO in the region) and they have the largest population of any ethnic group in the region, therefore the natural leader.

Albania is the poorest country in Europe after Moldova, unless you classify Kosovo as a country, then the third poorest, this is why you are not in the EU, they have the weakest army in the Balkans, aside from Montenegro (I have no clue why they were taken into NATO, probably just the question of geopolitics and a Western lackey government) and Albanians are the third largest ethnic group in the region, after Greeks/Serbs.

Being a Western brown nose and fervently pro-American does not make you the most reliable partner if your country has an economy and army comparable to that of an African or Asian state.

PJD & Peter,

USA & UK do not have good relations with Greece, and there are plenty of anti- Americam/English protest in Greece.

Greek blood is not pure but its a mixture of Ancient Greek (40%), Albanian (40%) and Slav (20%).

Albanians were Majority in Aticca, and Salonika, let alone Jannina. But today they are not even mentioned.

No that is not correct. Greek blood is a mixture of Ancient Greek (10% max), Albanian (25%), Slav (25%), Turkish (15%), Vlach (10%), Arab (5%), Venetian (5%), other (5%).

Albanian blood is a mixture of Illyrian (20%), Thracian (10%), Ancient Macedonian (5%), Ancient Greek (5%), Vlach (10%), Slav (20%), Turkish (15%), Italian (10%), other (5%).

Turkish blood is a mixture of Turks (10%), Ancient pre-Hittites (10%), Ancient Hittites (20%), Ancient and Medieval Greeks (20%), Armenians (20%), Italians (5%), Arabs (5%), Kurds (5% - meaning 5% of the blood of "Turks", ie, not including the 20% of Turkey's population who are Kurds), other (5%).

Serb and Croat blood is a mixture of ... no, don't even go there.

"USA, UK, Germany, & France, are not fond of Slavs and/or Orthodox religion, paving the way for Albanian nation to be the most appreciated."

Sure, this is why five Slavic states have made it into the EU/NATO before Albania (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Bulgaria) as well as three Orthodox states have made it into the EU/NATO before Albania (Greece, Romania and Bulgaria).

How can you be so sure that more Slavic/Orthodox countries won't be accepted into EU before Albania, given every single Slavic state is richer than Albania?

So much for the US, UK, France and Germany being so fond of you. Surely they should have just let you in first and kept the rest of us behind the Iron Curtain, if they appreciated you so?

"In two decades, the United States of Albania will run the show in the Balkans. We are heading there."

What is the United States of Albania? I have never heard about this country and I doubt anyone else has. It would be like me saying the United States of Slavia.

There is only one Albania, and it will take a very long time, if it wants to replace Greece as "running the show" in the Balkans, that is, if Greece were to stop developing itself too.

You should rather try and live in the real world, rather than this fairytale where you think the West adores you Albanians, because being a lapdog doesn't mean they will be your best friends. Did it work during Ottoman times?

There are protests like this in a lot of countries. Even in the UK and US themselves. Greece is a member of the EU and NATO and hence are allies of the US and the UK.

"Greek blood is not pure but its a mixture of Ancient Greek (40%), Albanian (40%) and Slav (20%)."

I am not going to bother to check these facts as the DNA composition of Greeks to their relationship to the UK and the US is irrelevent.
