Croatia will never be healthy if the Serb population in Croatia reached 20%. This is simply to high. It's mental to even suggest that all those Serbs should return.

Police in Croatia have filed criminal charges against two persons who on Saturday assaulted a Serb man in his home near Knin.

Around were I live there are many Serbs who have returned and they have no problems. But of course media does not show this only the one or two bad things that happen.
The word is that this man was former soldier of Serb Army, that why he was targetted. But I think this is still wrong because the war finished many years ago.
Dean van der serbia - last census before says that serbs where of 12% in Croatia and not 20%. Now is 4.5%

I'm with the comments regarding the last sentence in nr1 post. Other than that it was a great post.
Unfortunately, the last sentence is in itself a sign of ignorance. Ignorance is the main driver for intolerance.

I am sure these two extremists will get a slap on the wrist, a wink and a nod for a 'job well done' by the local police chief, and be released to harass more minorities. That is how things are done in the 'independent stat of Croatia'. Germany is very proud.

Those police officers where acting professionally in this case, yes i agree and salute them for that.
Otherwise they act just like their israeli collegues against Palrestinians when fanatical settler shoots them off with snipers or throwing grenades at them, looking the other way...

Croatia is certainly improving and hope this is an isolated incident.
Pity is the last sentence of the #1 post, no one is "the best".

Croatia is currently the only country in the Balkans that promotes tolerance.
(Mamica, 13 July 2009 14:02)
Then why are there streets in Knin named after Budak, Tudjman, Starcevic etc?
"Ethnic tolerance"... are you kidding me?

Mamica writes, "Croatia is currently the only country in the Balkians that promotes tolerance."
Croatia "might" promote tolerance but it isn't being practiced by many of its citizens. If it were, most of the 200,000 plus Serbs that were forced to leave Croatia under horrific conditions would have returned by now.
One need only compare Belgrade to Zagreb and the tolerance trophy wouldn't be in Croatian hands.

"All Quiet on the Western Front" (by Remarque) ?
Nothing new in this news, I guess.
Every few months breaking in the property and violating some Croatian Serb sends a clear signal for the rest of Croatian Serbs refugees not to repatriate to their native homes in Craotia.
"Effective method" in ethnic cleansing of all the Serbs from Croatia. From 20% of total population in 1991 down to 4% left today.

The Croatian Police have acted very professionally in this manner. Minority rights are being protected. This is an isolated inicident that shouldn't hinder Croatia's progress. Croatia is currently the only country in the Balkans that promotes tolerance.

There is only tolerance if you are Croatian. But wait, there are hardly any minorities in Croatia. The large Serbian minority in Krajina was ethnically cleansed and has still not been able to return. How can you talk about tolerance when you are still in denial about the genocide during WWII and when your most popular singer promotes Nazism? You guys are indeed special people.

It is a shame you thought to put that last sentence in. That shows a lack of open-mindness. Serbia, especially the city of Belgrade is very tolerant. Slovenia...tolerant. Many people in Montenegro...tolerant and more. Why ruin a good post by saying that there is only one 'toleant' country?
A part of me thinks you are trying to bait a flame post.
