"...In a polite matter can some comment contributor kindly explain what is the root cause of incidents between Croatia & Slovenia? I'd appreciate a friendly response. Thank You..."

Answer: Well Balkan temper and human nature in action and again, of course. It is territorial issue and again.
Slovenia is having tiny access to the Adriatic see and International Waters, and consequently matter is connected with the "fishing rights" then, via narrow Bay of Piran. But concerning geographic and topographic shape of that Bay Croats can have different interpretation of “territorial waters extensions” and they can close or block Slovenian access to the "open sea".
Does this sound crazy enough? Yep, but it’s true. This two "capable" diplomacies can't find the solution for this "major" problem for already 18 years.

Dimitrij Rupel is the main who started the Slovenian-Croatians down this path when he was FM. That hes own Slovenian government had to dismiss him because of all the troubles and headaches he created and treats Rupel now as person of non grata. Is it not that it takes only one politician to start troubles and for all of society to suffer their nonsenses. These kind of politicians will be the death of us all.

Wouldn't be funny if they went to war against each other? Of course, the us media would blame Serbia for it because Serbia is a Balkan nation.

Incidents doesnt mean war, it could be some idiot letting a bomb off or something along those lines. There are many croatian vets psychologically scarred that can do it.

Has Kosovo been solved by negotiation, it seems negotition is ok for the west but acceptable to bomb the serbs into submission. Europe is not one and never has been in History.

This is a very childish way to behave, Europe is one and everything is solvable through negotiation. If the border is shut by Slovenia it will cause caos to trade..

Croatia will be the LOSER!

Because Slovenia is the smug EU club and Croatia is everyone's lapdog! Why don't they go cry to their American Masters? Maybe they could do something?

What a stupidly irresponsible statement. One obviously does not need to be of high IQ for the job "politician."

If even one single soldier of either side were tolose his life in an "incident" over an irrelevantly tiny scrap of land, that would be criminal beyond belief. I'd be in greater disbelief that the peopleof either country would allow it.

Worth one life of a young guy? It would actually be better to sink that tiny bit of land into the sea to prevent an "incident."

"Croatians wouldn't dare start an incident with Slovenia. They'd get destroyed trying."

The brave Slovenians! If you had any bravery you would declare war and win the territory the old fashioned way, not blackmail.

Istria should be given back to Italy, then the problem would be solved. Istria was a gift to Serbia, since Slovenians threw flowers at Hitler, and the Croats vehemently supported him. The losers of the war don't deserve it, and we Serbs will be glad to support Italy.
If Croats and Slovenes want to fight, we will be glad to sell arms to both sides.
Cheers!!

Croatia should realize that they don't have a dog in this fight.

Throw up the white flag in this tired situation that you will NOT win.
