They didnt have arguments against Mesic? What about independence of Krajina? Krajina had much more rights to became independent than separatist albanians in Kosovo&Metohija. Also, to mention that this guy was involved in ethnic-cleansing thath took place in Krajina. Mesic is a coward and man of past!

Croatia has a pretty despicable history and was born out of fascism. In my view it has not got over this and should not be allowed into the EU until there is a much better change of attitude.

A good measure would be if Croatia encouraged a higher rate of return of Serbs to Krajina.

So, let's gather around the coffee table and discuss the return and consequent self government for Serbs in Krajina.

Maybe they could be promised autonomy within Croatia's borders - a bit like 1244 perhaps?

"even if Serbia does not intend to recognize Kosovo's statehood, it should enable cooperation in the region, instead of preventing it". Absolutely. Well said Mr Mesic.

Ministers you’d like to think are people with maturity. Children because of their lack of maturity behave somewhat consistent with some ministers in Serbia today.

Here’s a classic example.

Montenegro did not walk out, but Montenegrian Serbs walked out. There is a difference between Monenegro and Serbs from Montenegro.
Look out for Embassies to be open soon in Podgorica and Prishtina.

Seeing how Montenegrins ARE Serbs, can you please tell us what exactly is the difference between Montenegro and Montenegrin Serbs.

Mesic,

Lets discuss Fascism, Nazism and intolerance to other religions and how it relates to your so-called democratic country?

zoran

Of course mesic is saying this. Croatia ethnically cleansed itself of 300k serbs, stole land, and Albanians did the same in Kosovo, exiting over 200k serbs.

Most western professors now recognize that NATO was duped during the intervention. Serbs did the stoic thing, and chose not to even speak. Samo napred plavi!!

Serbia is the master of disaster for itself and anybody esle around Serbia.

Guilty poeple leave discussions which means they (Serbian delegation) didn´t have arguments to continue.

I am wondering journalist left the meeting. What will they report then?

"According to the report, Mesić expressed his regret at their move, because he believed they should have stayed and discussed it".

Mesic's comment is degrading, surely he must know that such matter is to be discussed within the UN, not in some Summer School around a coffee table.

What's wrong with this man? Serbia never forced Croatia not to recognize Kosovo but now Croatia is forcing Serbia to, more or less, recognize Kosovo. Mind your own business and don't tell us what to. Serbia should tell Croatia how to deal with the border dispute with Slovenia. Let's see how they like that. I'm so proud Serbia, RS and Montenegro walked out. Way to go!

Serbia led itself down the path of the separation of Kosovo. The Serb leadership, with Milosevic at its head (though not acting alone), and its followers among the Serb people dived head first into war with Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and then in within its own borders in the province/republic of Kosovo. This made it an easy decision for the West to recognise Kosovo as an independent state.

Mesic, being president of a nation trying to join the EU and solidify its position in the West, said what anyone in his position would do. Take his words in the context of 2009 and not 1990 or 1999.

Serbia should not alienate itself from the West if it wants to regain Kosovo, though this may be too late.

Mr.Mesic's comment like that is not first and wont be the last. He knows exactly what to say and as always in the right time and right place.
As Kosova-USA guy said: if you can't fight the heat get out of the Kitchen. Simple as that.

Mr. Mesic has just found out that some people don't care very much what he thinks.

He deludes himself by thinking that he is a player of any importance. Perhaps he should concentrate on his own problem with Slovenia and butt out of things which don't concern him at all.

Why? Because of a lost battle in 1389??? Serbia doesn’t control Kosovo anymore since 1999.

Croatia can not get enough of Serbia! They are like the little brother just tring to get big brother Serbia upset.

I guess Croatia is pretty bored and doesn't have anything to worry about anything except Kosovo. They have no crime, no mobs, an awesome economy, unbelievable human rights, the list goes on and on. Croatia is perfect. What a great nation Croatia is! I think countries like France, Germany, the USA should take some notes.

The truth is Croatia CAN NOT live with out Serbs or Serbia. Serbs and Serbia is there motivation. Without Serbia Croatia has no reason to exsist. Serbia can care less about your country, maybe Croatia would like to get annexed by Serbia? That way they can talk about Kosovo everyday!

More money thrown away by Serbian govt so that the elite can go and hang out by the pool at an expensive hotel and do nothing.

I bet the other attendees at the meeting were saying maybe we should have let Mesic speak at the first of the meeting.

Mesic should be, like Clinton, Clack, Albright, Blair and company...., be handcuffed and arrested, and sent to a prison cell and await 6 years for his war crimes trial to begin.

Very nicely done Mr. Mesic.
But whe know a simple discussion is not a fair game to Serbia. Free speech sponsored by the EU. Serbia is not ready for that advancment.
