Kosovo-USA:
"It is perfectly legal during war time if you catch enemy spies to detain and interrogate them."

The KLA was among other things, a terrorist organisation that kidnapped, tortured & murdered all those who didn't 'co-operate' with them.

And that includes significant numbers of K-albanians - either people who used to work for or with Milosevic's regime, or just people who got in the way of their operations - either military, political or criminal.

Supporting your brethren's wish for independence in Kosovo is one thing. Supporting criminals is quite another.

@MikeC: "Kosovo must be the only place on earth where people have elected warcriminals and murderers."

Actually, it also happened in America, remember people re-elected George Bush?

And?? He is not accusing them of legal detainment and interrogation. He is accusing them of illegal detainment and torture.

I suppose the Serb police accused of war crimes could use the same defense you did.

You remind me of those smug gangsters from the mafia movies when you say the KLA leaders will not be convicted. Let me guess the judge has been bribed, the investigators and jury have been paid or itimidated to look the other way with evidence, and the witnesses are too scared to come forward or simply missing.

I have news for you though. A crime is a crime regardless of ethnicity or a conviction. The fact is hundreds if not thousands of innocent Serbs were murdered and tortured by Albanian terrorists not just during the war, but after the war as well.

Regardless of what Albanians think of Serbs, the war, or history, the fact is there are well documented accounts of atrocities committed against Serbs as well as a list of victims. Also, the mistreatment of Serbs in Kosovo continues.

Despite victims and the seriousness of these crimes, the perpetrators are not getting punished. Don't think that doesn't reflect on the institutions of the Albanians currently running Kosovo in terms of their civility, legitimacy, and competence.

These charges will be dropped or these "people" will be acquitted because no Albanian will ever be sentenced in Albanian court. They are "heroes" and not murderers.

I know Mr. Dean and he used to work for UNMIK.
Anyway getting back to the subject. These charges have no chance in hell to convict none of them. It is perfectly legal during war time if you catch enemy spies to detain and interrogate them.

Kosovo must be the only place on earth where people have elected warcriminals and murderers. Albanians certainly have a bright future ahead. No wonder Albania is in such a poor condition.
