What a great expose of true NGO activity! Any survivor must have irreproachable reputation... The very fact that he was suspected tells us a lot about NGOs. Although, there is nothing new for us...

For the NGO's who don't know what they are talking about here an excerpt from a wittness, written and sent to the UN Security Council in June 1993!!!
"...My son Zoran recognized Midhat Salihovic by his voice and asked him: 'Midhat, is it you?' Midhat replied: 'Yes, it's me, come over for a drink. If you don't, we'll catch you and impale you alive to teach you how good the Turks are at that'.

At that moment [Muslim] Mulija Zukie, formerly my neighbour, called me to. 'Come over for a cup of coffee, cursing my 'Chetnik mother'. My brother-in-law Lazar Simic was wounded then, and was called by someone, I think it was Rifet Salihovic, who said: 'Surrender, you Chetniks, your goose is cooked. Our people with Mujaheddin are in Veljavica, there are 1,500 of them, we'll f..k your mother'. Someone was wounded and asked for help and Midhat Salihovic said: 'Wait, now we'll slaughter the Serbs'......end of witness report

This guy could have killed innocent people from the Serbian community, or is it that Serbians are guilty by association and therefore cannot be innocent and can never be treated equally. Just remember that 34,000 Serbs 4,500 Croats and 44,000 Bosnians died in the conflict. The Bosnian muslims claim to have been unarmed so did the Serbs,Croats shoot themselves, wonderful what media propaganda can do...

Bijelina was the place where the first stages of massacres and expulsions of Bosnian War started by Milosevic, Arkan, Mladic and Karadzic, the four criminals that still today are revered as heroes by nationalist Serbs.

Bijelina today is still a bastion of Bosnian Serb radical nationalism (a Serbian flag and a tower of a Serb Othodox Church is in the current, post-Yugoslav coat of arms of the city…), so it’s natural that a court there made the arrest of an “intruder” Bosnian Muslim…

By criticizing this arrest noone is implying that crimes against Serbs are tolerable and do not need to be punished, or that if you survive genocide you are automatically exempt.
It just looks particularly bad in the backdrop that RS authorities are perceived to have made limited effort and success with apprehending war criminals - especially Serbian war criminals.
So when they do arrest one, and he is a survivor of Sebrenica it looks terrible and extremely biased. It also appears that the RS is still not adequately repetent about Sebrenica, etc.

What goes around, comes around. Or do "genocide survivors" go scot-free?

Whoever committed a crime in the Wars of Yugoslav Secession must be held accountable for their deeds.

The worse crimes commited against Serbs were in the Srebrenica area, around 3,500 innocent died in the hand of the criminal Naser Oric! Good job on arresting Salihović, Hague would never had done it.There is too much evidence of the crimes committed against Serbs out there, hopefully witnesses will come forward and this "Srebrenica survivor" will be condemned.

the connection of political questions, says everything about this so-called ngo's...

no word about the scandalous release of a war-criminal to (again) flee the country...

they shouldn't dare to speak for all serbians, i wonder how long "the serbians with dignity" have to tolerate this that again openly say, that serbian victims don't count...

Of what, exactly, has Salihovic been accused? Have the NGOs reviewed his indictment? Knowing nothing about his case, I am very curious. Let's just imagine if scores of witnesses watched him murder a Serbian family, for instance. If the evidence were compelling, wouldn't it be appropriate to arrest him, even if he had survived the Srebrenica killing fields? Frivolous accusations are one thing, but legitimate charges for war crimes are quite another. Which one are we talking about here? B92, do you know?

On what grounds do the Women in Black (Belgrade) and the International Helsinki Committee (Belgrade) feel entitled to comment on what is an exclusively Bosnian legal question. Are they suggesting Belgrade has jurisdiction in BiH now?

Rick

Blah blah blah. These ngos should be a story tellers. If he has done any crime, the courts will show that he is guilty or not. Thats that. Bye bye now
