The Serbian national water polo team won the gold medal at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara on Sunday.

You just have to try to take it away from Serbia. Fifth place is no match for 1st and you are "Kosovar" not Albanian, or so you want the world to think.

Thats right Olf, we lost to Albania.
Notice how Kosovo isn't mentioned, because you know, its a tournament of COUNTRIES. Not make believe fantasies.

The Serbian women's basketball team, however, did win the silver medal - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basketball_at_the_2009_Mediterranean_Games
And Serbia also did not send its best players to the Mediterranean games. Many of Serbia's NBA players don't play for Serbia's national team anymore.

The Serb team of today has seen better days. Since the glory days of the 80s and 90s with numerous of European titles and world championships it's been downhill for Serbias pride. However, once in a while it's nice to look back at the European gold medal in 1995, 1997 and 2001. And, of course, the gold medals in the World championships in 1998 and 2002. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serbia_basketball

What a great win and an even greater tournament. Wonder why B92 didn't mention that Serbia beat both Montenegro (7 - 4) and, in the semi-finals, Croatia (8 - 14). Times like these it's just great to be Serb :)
