Hungarian police used tear gas on Saturday in Budapest to disperse a demonstration of the outlawed neo-fascist Hungarian Guard.

Looking at the videos I have to say, the participants have little chance to help your dad in his profession. I feel, they are somehow over-qualified for him. With astrophysics things look better, at least they know what "sagittarius" ("nyilas") does mean, so maybe the Nobel prize is open.
It is really depressing to know, ca. 10% of the country have that level of IQ.

Living almost in the epicentrum (almost middle of Blaha-Kossuth tér-Deak tér triangle) I often had opportunity to watch these clashes since 2006 .Well the truth is the you have amateurs on both sides.Policemen are usually brought from countryside are disorganized have no knowlage of Budapest streets and easily get in panic.With a group consisting of 200 delije,gate 7 and zyleta members(Red Star,Olympiakos,Legia warsaw ultras)and good tactics this police force can be defeated.The same goes for other side.Gárda members and far right troublemakers consist of mindless born loosers(seggfejs in hungarian) who are not able to organize themselves for streetfight but are very laud though not to creativ using always the same slogans.For any well organized and well trained police force it would take much shorter time to send them home to their mummy.

Little addition: the arrests happened on Erzsébet tér, few hundred meters from (almost infamous) Szabadság tér.
On July 2 U.S. Embassy (which as mentioned, is on Szabadság tér) issued a "Warden Alert" to all US citizens they have on register, saying that:
"it is reccommended that American citizens avoid the Szabadság tér area during this event"
and that
"there will be a large police presence in the park and Embassy area".
Under normal circumstances Erzsébet tér is a very interesting spot because of imposing US Embassy behind the equally imposing Soviet-Russian monument. There are some OK cafes in the area and if no one else, I should of curse be sitting there with ice cream for July 4. But our fun was killed and.

That force is supposed be the one which would re-claim all lost territories + more. It is strong enough to prevent us from eating ice cream on July 4 in front of US Embassy.
Instead of re-claiming Isztria and Ungvár my best wish is to re-claim the city of Budapest itself and being able to eat ice cram in front of US Embassy (or Soviet monument - if you like that version better) on July 4 or May 9 without being beaten by some nazi pig.

The event itself was as shameful as usual. It could not be a more perfect place and timing: just opposite the American consulate, next to the Russian/Soviet memorial and precisely on 4th of July.
Arrest of Gábor Vona is welcome. Why took them so long?
