Joe,

Easy :

1. Here’s a shortlist of the states where you have bases : Japan , Korea , Serbia , all countries of the Persian Gulf but Iran , Afghanistan , Bulgaria, Germany ,Belgium, Bosnia&H, Italy , Panama , Macedonia, Australia , Cuba and , Djibouti , Turkey , Spain , Diego Garcia , Greece ,Equador, Kirgizia , UK ect. +++ States where you have just military camps , posts , barracks , joint forces installations and military stations are not taken into consideration …

2. As for the USD tax that 7 Bln of the mankind pay to the US it has been calculated long ago. Don’t pretend as if you hear it for the first time. US buys goods and whole countries for it’s empty dollars. You work not enough to live this good you are used to. You steal our money directly cause you know that the whole country consumpts what it does not earn. This is neo colonialism where you need only good army and currency only. And after all you dare to talk about freedom and democracy !

Joe,

This is time for US and its embassy in Belgrade to remember the importance of Serbian history. Kosovo and Metohija is fundamentally important to every Serb in the homeland and in the diaspora. This is time for all American citizens to respect Kosovo and Metohija in Serbian history, culture and religion and Serbs can reciprocate their respect for American Independence day celebrations and American history. To date Mr. Biden has offered to Serbs least respect and mention of him just irritates.

Non-emergency applications such as replacement of an expiring passport, lost/stolen passport, adding pages or amending current passports, submitting documentation to register the birth of an American child overseas, notary services and consulting with consular personnel on a variety of matters are available in Pristina by appointment only.

Ataman, it seems like you forgat this part, which came from your link.
Guess what, my kids passports are due to expire in April 2010, which is nex year and I will get their new ones in Prishtina and it takes 5 business days to have them in my hand, just like in 2005.

Yes, that is 100%. Artificial smile + high maintenance + not sure, is she honest or not. Precisely THIS is the worst part of living in the States - the girls. :(

Luckily, I was with my family but I know the pain what the others had to go through. In most cases immigrant just landed up with an other immigrant.

But if they have children, than they will be more often than not like the locals: same artificial smile, etc, etc.

With the amount of land the government is giving them (ok, it's a 99-year lease) for an embassy - 5 hectares (10 acres!) - they should have room for everything. Including planting a small forest. (They need it for 4th of July picnics, maybe?)

(Kosova-USA, 3 July 2009 16:54)

Reading again what these bozos in State Department think...

http://pristina.usembassy.gov/information_for_travelers.html

Imagine some stray dog in Pristina ate my passport. (Don't tell me there is no stray dog problem there!). Now as they write:

"The U.S. Embassy Skopje, Macedonia, is the Department of State designated venue for most consular services to citizens of Republic of Kosovo."

and:

"For travel involving emergency replacement of a lost or stolen U.S. passport, the U.S. Embassy Pristina may facilitate travel by the applicant to the U.S. Embassy Skopje, Macedonia."

The last sentence explains everything:

"If you need a consular service and cannot wait for the consular officer to travel to Pristina, you will need to schedule an appointment in Skopje via the Internet through the U.S."

In other words... there is no consular section in Pristina at all. The consul is in Skopje and if you have problem, than... it could be S.O.L. unless you can wait for him.

The State Department smart-guys "made it" happen, what is unmatched worldwide. There are indeed two: in Belgrade and in Pristina. But just to avoid more confrontation - the one in Pristina is acting as "honorary" Embassy: it won't issue visas. For that, you have to travel to Skopje, Belgrade or Tirana.

I am not even sure, they are authorized to issue emergency US passports.

My dear friend ATAMAN, Embassies do not issue visas but Consulates do. As far as US Passport holders , even when it was only Liaison Office I renewed my kids passports in 2005 in Prishtina and had no need to go to Skopje.
If you don't beleive , why dont you ask and is easy to verify if US citizens were able to get their passports in Prishtina, before Kosova Coordinated Declaration of Independence ocurred and US Embassy was open officially.

(szemi, 3 July 2009 12:45)

Not necessary an evil thing per se. We are going to celebrate tomorrow, without being invited to the consulate, just with some local expats if they hopefully come.

And we (in the company) celebrate the Lunar New Year, too. People of southern Bay Area have little time to be on vacation, so let us celebrate what we can.

See, unlike earlier years I am only one night by train from Skopje (that would mean, I can reach Ohrid or Decani or Gracanica very easily and very cheaply). But I can't travel because of projects, only if it's done and only for few days. In Silicon Valley the usual vacation is only 10 days/year and you take it if your projects can wait. That applies to my situation here, too.

Don't ask me, ask geniuses in State Department. In any case, it is not a fully functioning embassy and people complain about it left and right.

Don't ask me, ask geniuses in State Department. In any case, it is not a fully functioning embassy and people complain about it left and right. I understand: there are two diametrically opposite opinions: basically yours and mine. And State Department is stuck somewhere in the middle, wasting a lot of your and mine money.

I of course oppose them opening the "embassy" in Pristina - but if they do, than open one with full service.

capo di tutti capi,

Could you please list at least few countries from those tens occupied by the US?
Also how do you calculate so accurately that 20% USD tax? How do we receive that? Directly or indirectly?

Joe,

Failed again.Simply these people with artificial smile are not my cup of tea.Maybe you would enjoy their company.Well people have different tastes.I really do not understand why you try to force your mentality, wishes, taste and qulity on the others. And can you do anything with your szemiphobia or is it incurable like your ortodoxphobia? Is it a big pain or frustrating that not everyone is a fun of your beloved USA and their hypocrisy.

szemi,

I see your point but sooner or later money comes in play because people need it to survive. This is very true even in Hungary.
As for the ticket sorry I can't help you. I am not into sports.

Yeah Joe,

And additional both In Warszawa(varsovie is in french)and Budapest these events are full of former commies who as "businessmen"became the best
servants of american interest.
I really do not like their "smell".One more reason why is it better to avoid these events. I prefer parties organized by my friends. There the chicks are better.especially in the lack of overweight american beauties.

If you don't beleive , why dont you ask and is easy to verify if US citizens were able to get their passports in Prishtina

What a big gap is there between the state that once fought for it's own independence and the very same state which now occupies tens of other counries and which imposes it's policy to half of the world and which exploit's the rest of the world with it's 20% USD Tax ! So to my mind this is not an Independence but a Hypocrisy Day that they celebrate annually.

Congratulations !

Dear B92,

AS one of those yellow-carded I would like to apologize for not sticking directly to the topic but it is sometimes difficult especially when you are directly challanged.Otherwise a topic itself may develope into very distant topics.Like the case with the gossips. Also I would like to take adventage of the moment and congratulate you on recently donated mammography machine.

Joe,

I fully understand your point but there are many steps between being poor and a member of high society.

Cappo di tutti ,

Well Benjamin FRanklin and George Washington would turn in their graves if they knew that some Madys(Albright),Condis(Rice)and Hillies(Clinton) represent(ed) US on the world stage.

Are you sure? Please read - straight from horse's mouth and not a fiction.

You can't get ANY consular service... Neither as Albanian.

Nor as American...

But it depends of what social cycle you are associated with. Also girls of higher cycles are much more expensive if you take them out. They are of "high maintenance".
(Joe, 3 July 2009 19:35)
Joe is not there such a thing in your beloved USA that for example a charming man meets a beautiful woman and they fall in love and they do not care too much about each other'S purse. That sounds very artificial.
And if you are such a VIP could you get some tickets
for next Super Bowl?
I would appreciate.

With the amount of land the government is giving them (ok, it's a 99-year lease) for an embassy - 5 hectares (10 acres!) - they should have room for everything. Including planting a small forest. (They need it for 4th of July picnics, maybe?)

(Joe, 3 July 2009 19:35)

Yes, that is 100%. Artificial smile + high maintenance + not sure, is she honest or not. Precisely THIS is the worst part of living in the States - the girls. :(

Luckily, I was with my family but I know the pain what the others had to go through. In most cases immigrant just landed up with an other immigrant.

But if they have children, than they will be more often than not like the locals: same artificial smile, etc, etc.

Joe,

Easy :
