I will state it again and will keep saying ,anyone that wants Serbia to join the EU is not for Serbia.Do you really believe that countries that demolished our country physically and mentally have our best interest at heart?Look at england who have been flooded with unskilled immigants.Look at germany who is now battling the EU over genetically engineered food.Look at portugal who's fishing rights have been cut drastically.Say NO TO EU.God bless the SOVEREIGN nation of Serbia and our holy church!

Kosovo status can only be reached with the mutual consent of the two parties involved. Trying to take Serbian land by force will not work. Why is that so hard to understand? If their is not mutual consent, there will never be peace in Kosovo. The people that live there know that. Do people really want to live like that?

I wouldn't be so cocky. The reason they don't want Serbia issuing passports is because they don't want Albanians travelling freely around Europe. For sure, Serbia will not join the EU with Kosovo. There is no way that the EU wants to increase it's Muslim population. Do you think your motherland and Turkey will join the EU?? Dream on. They will feed you a line. The best you can hope for is a preferential agreement with the EU.

@dragomir. My dear serbian friend i am greek and i consider myself as "proserbian" whatever that means, so i have a dilemma on the one side i am for serbia on the other i want serbia to join EU. Now what can i do i love you guys and i dont want to see you separated away from the big party, together we are strong whatever happens and until somthing better arises at the horizont EU is the way to go, with all it's mistakes and biases. Imagine serbia being in EU and NATO do you thing the whole kosovo disaster would happened?

They sure "support" you. Word is that Serbia must NOT issue any more passports to Kosova citizens if Serbia wants to get visa free travel. I quote from the Swedish minister (they lead EU):
"‘We want to suspend visa regime with Serbia and not with Kosovo and we have a dialog on that issue with Serbia and not with Kosovo. The EU cannot negotiate and agree something with one state and then enforced that for another state as well’"

Is that really support?

The reason they don't want Serbia issuing passports is because they don't want Albanians travelling freely around Europe. For sure, Serbia will not join the EU with Kosovo. There is no way that the EU wants to increase it's Muslim population. Do you think your motherland and Turkey will join the EU?? Dream on. They will feed you a line. Regarding religion: EU knows about Albanians and religion, but Orthodoxy isn't exactly a EU favorite. The main issue is Russia, who supports them and who doesn't.

Since when did the EU ever have a problem with Orthodoxy? Romania, Greece, Bulgaria (EU members) and Macedonia (EU candidate) are all predominantly Orthodox.

The EU would DEFINITELY not prefer to take a muslim country into Europe over Orhtodox, if religion was the only factor that mattered for membership.

"Kosovo has powerful friends" is the headline of the US ambassador's speech for 4th of July. If Serbia was a western favorite we would be in trouble, but we're pro-west and the West wants Russia out. Once in EU we don't care

Dragoslav, I understand your thinking but come on you're not supposed to let emotions dictate politics. That didn't get us anywhere in the 90's and we kind of don't have a nuclear bomb to command respect like the west.

Serbia needs to have unity, strategy, continue developing and eventually join the EU.

The only concern i have is the Lisbon Treaty. If decision making is based on population representation and no right to veto then their might be trouble. What if they vote over the EU states that have not recognized Kosovo? Will this fall under EU foreign policy or internal matters of the EU? Serbia should judge if that time comes and let elections decide if EU is in Serbia's interests. No wonder why Vaclav Claus and others are increasingly becoming EU skeptics. But hey, if it is passed, Serbs can make fun of their EU neighbours on how they've lost their soverignty. There are more scary things in that treaty that have a hint of totalitarianism but that doesn't change that majority of EU citizens are good minded people who do not wish Serbia any ill. They're are also worried about EUs direction.

there has been a Europe long before it became trendy to call it the EU and serbia was part of that Europe longer than America has been a country.For the [people that say "its not great but...".In the EU serbia will have to import what it already has,it will have to open its borders to people who have been trying to erase our borders for centuries,our once superior educational system will fall to the level of england or God forbid US,we will have to embrace(so to speak)homosexuality,atheism,.The EU is an old totaltarian idea that wasnt able to be implimented before because of the old generation that believed in God and freedom and new better.Now that the WW2 geration is passing on who will protect our faith and freedom,the coca-cola,american idol,mcdonalds,reality Tv generation.God help us!So with that being said God bless the sovereign nation of serbia and our holy church!
