Well Roma’s are non Albanians. Why do you (SERBIA) leave them in polluted camps???? Why don't you out them together with other Serbian refugees (in SERBIA) but you leave them in polluted camps??? They eve served you devotedly in 1999

I think a 5 year old child can recognize crocodile tears, don't you??
(ben, 26 June 2009 15:26)

Sorry still do not get it, what has my country Switzerland has to do with Belgrade???
This article is about the terrible situation of Romas in Kosovo, nothing more nothing less, so if you want to critize the all world for this problem, which you guys are always doing, be my guest.
It will certainly not change my mind about this shamefull situation. Since I believe that you live in Kosovo, either you have not heart or are a completely blinded nationalist

I thought you smarter!

The issue is if you are kicked out together (Roma and Serbs) you should be together in refugee camps (Roma and Serbs). But you are not. In camps are Romas in houses Serbs

We hear all day Serbia preaching the noble intentions of protecting the non-Albanians in Kosova.

(ben, 25 June 2009 14:26)

I guess it is my "moralism" that hurt you :)

Well, don't know in belgrade but can tell you in switzerland both Roma and Serbs live in houses....., apart from the travelling Romas who are having sort of camping places at their disposal for their short stay.
BTW, quit hard to read your comment, most probably was written with too much emotion :)Just keep cool

I am sick of your false moralism!!!

If Romas and some of K-Serbs were displaced form their homes how it comes that

some are in polluted camps and other are in safe houses and Belgrade??????

And it is a pure coincidence that the one that live in poluted camps are Roma and the one in safe houses are Serbs????

And whos discrimination is this one???

Why they are not in Belgrade or in other places where the siplaced K-Serbs are??? Is any Serbs in those camps??? If not whow it comes???

I agree with HRW 100%! Close it and give the Roma a choice: Serbia or Kosova and either country should welcome and try to integrate them. How Roma are treated in the Balkans is a shame.
(Alban, 24 June 2009 11:27)

They are citizens of Serbia and serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija is their home!!

@ Ben and Kosovo USA

I do appreciate that you have a declared uncontrolled hatred towards the Serbs but for God sake spare us from this totally unjustified and more than low level commnents directed towards a population that have been suffering for a long time.
I suggest that you spent your negative energy somewhere else or convert it to a positive energy that would maybe contribute to improve the terrible image that albanians are having in Europe.

It is very clear that a great crime has been and continues to be committed against these people, but long-term relocation is not the key issue. With 82 deaths so far, the last a 3 day old baby last week, what is needed here is Immediate Evacuation and Proper Medical Treatment. Neither are being considered. The EU supports the Kosovo government, which cannot provide adequate health care for any of its citizens. Read the report by "Physicians for Human Rights". There is no medical plan for treatment for these families. Ask the World Health Organisation "Where is your medical plan? Ask the Kosovo government, the EU, UN and USAID - "WHERE ARE THE AMBULANCES""

Alban said something reasonable but then the combination of Ben and Kosova USA resorted to race guilt.

Alban you might want a democracy but your comrades do not. They want to live in a state that punishes races and their generations.

It seems that your countryman will continue to be the greatest and most immediate obstacles to Kosovo becoming a place that respects the rule of law.

I strongly agree with the HRW here (as usual) -- and with those who are describing the deplorable conditions which many roma have to face throughout the world.

speaking as one of the internationals, this is yet another black mark against us. i really have to wonder about the UN on the ground, some of their decisions are simply bizarre and unconscionable. at any rate, there is plenty of blame to go around here.

and now i would like to also take exception with SOME of my albanian colleagues. excuse me -- how do you each know exactly what these individual roma are guilty of, or if they are in fact guilty?? who has this information?? have charges been leveled, arrests, convictions?? of course i believe that some of them are guilty of war crimes, as well as some serbs, albanians and others in kosovo/a. the criminals need to be investigated, and if there is enough evidence, arrested. but to accuse an entire ethnic group is wrong, ignorant and immoral. some roma actually helped ethnic albanians, and we know this is true as in the case of the Bytyqi (sp?) brothers.

so let us try to be more careful about making sweeping generalizations of entire groups -- and at the same time, let us have more investigation of war crimes, not just of the "big fish."

thank you.

(Alban, 24 June 2009 11:27) the reason the Roma live in these areas is that they were ethnically cleansed from their homes along with the Serbs by the terrorist kla.The reason Kosmet is polluted is because of the war crimes committed by nato/EU whereby they used depleted uranium which is banned by world law.

Note the racism of the Albanians here. Many of those are children. The Albanians don't want to rebuild the Roma houses (which the Albanians destroyed) and give them proper rights - the Albanians just want to steal all the land in Kosovo for themselves.

This is the reason why the Albanians want them to go to Belgrade.

It is a shame how the international community has been acting towards these people! They are not less racist than the local population who do not want to see Roma in its neighbourhood. Well said ben. This lot has served Milosevic with loyalty and even comitted crimes along with serb paramilitaries.

That camp should be closed and Kosova smust assume the responsibility to take care of them in her own territory. Build homes and schools for them.

I suggest the Roma should be sent in Leposavic or Zubin Potok where they are welcomed and with that avoid any ulterior tensions.

Another solution would be to sent them in Belgrade whom they served so devotedly during 1999.

Serbia should not abandon her servant citizens.
