Well, I don't know if Ukraine is a European country? Where does Europe end? Is Kazakhstan still a European country? The caucasus?

Personally I would rather not see Ukraine and the others in EU and/or NATO. Maybe EU, but not NATO.

With Poland it's quite difficult, I think, too many common enemies are our friends when we talk about our other common enemies with our common enemies, if that makes any sense (like when a Pole talks with a German, or a Russian, or a Ukrainian, or a Lithuanian).

To start out, we can find a common enemy, that usually works the quickest, hehe ;)

When I speak to russians I must realize that we have quite a few of them.
Also we can start out giving a much stronger support together to our history long allies in the Balkans which could cause a big headache to those common enemies.

I think that Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova will probably push for EU entry in about 2025-2030, the EU is exhausted and has to clean up a lot of problems before they take anyone else in, but I think that every European country has the right to join if they want to (more so than Turkey).

Generally, Polish-Russian relations are only strained in politics (I don't like the Kaczynskis or Putin at all, none of them are in any way productive when it comes to Polish-Russian relations with both sides playing victim, blaming the other, exaggerating with everything), this of course has an effect on everything else, but I believe that a few old generations will die and it will be better.

Ataman,
Regarding #1 I think polish-russian relations are relatively good maybe exept for politics. The bilateral trade turnover in 2008 was 50 %higher than one year before. There is also very good cooperation between polish and russian small and middle scale enterprises(one of the reasons why These companies do better than their hungarian versions, besides better tax conditions). This recalls me the words of Orbán"the boys are in the mine"VIca:There is still life outside EU as well. The cooperation of cultural and educational institutions is close to perfect.I must mention that many polish volunteers fought together with cossacs and the greek in Balkans wars against islamoimperialists on serbian side. Regarding #2 Reading such comments one sentence crosses my mind"Tiszta Dedó"(Purely childish)I do not know if these albanian posters know at all how tragicomic their posts are. Regarding original article(serb-croat cooperation) here is agood example which should be set as example http://www.netriport.hu/belfold/cikk/?id=5544

Reading #1 I begun to think, there was quite a bit broken in the past between Poland and Russia and is it possible to fix.... things are never one-sided and certain stuff needs to be overcome.

Reading #2 - indeed, the destructive spirit of Comrade Enver still can't rest.

In general, it's amusing how busy Serbian citizens of a little southern province are... cutting the branch(es) they are sitting on and there is barely any topic they don't insert some negative remarks. Don't they have anything else to do, just troll around?

Peter Sudyka,

I agree with you this is a good thing. I disagree with you about Ukraine. In my opinion Ukraine should not enter EU or NATO (at least not for the coming decades).

But good to see Poland and Ukraine work together!

With comments like Albani's above, and the sheer volume of them even just here on B92, it sometimes makes you wonder: are online newspapers and encyclopedias banned, or something, that they keep making these huge factual errors online? Maybe Enver Hoxha's still alive and keeping Albania in the dark? Or is it just the effects of his isolation?

Peter Sudyka

More of this is necessary. Serbia and Croatia have a very difficult past to get over, I hope that they can do it, one thing I know is that things like this deal often help to get it going.

I know how it was between Ukraine and Poland, since Ukraine between independent from the USSR, we started to open trade, examine our difficult past (Wo³yñ massacres, Paw³okoma massacre and Operation Wis³a) and collaborate on many international projects (like this Euro 2012, POLUKRBAT military division and supporting Ukraine getting into NATO and EU) and today, our relations are greater than they ever have been in our very dark past.

This is why I think things like this might be the start of a bright future between two very similair countries and peoples (what us and the Ukrainians call "the ethnic and cultural kinship of the Polish and Ukrainian peoples"). Good luck!
