“Every Summer Belgrade is full of Japanese tourists. They are among the best money-spenders.
On several occasions I told them, it's OK to visit Kosovo because it does not bite, Decani is well worth the effort and the Japanese tourists are 100% safe.
Well... most once you mention "Kosovo" will freak out: "never ever, it's dangerous like hell".
So..... poor Japanese don't deserve your critic, they are not afraid to stroll in Belgrade.

I had a chance to work with an official of Spain embassy to Belgrade. He had to meet several Kosovo government ministers and also some businessmen and the heads of Kosovo Chamber of Commerce in Prishtina. This happened in 2005 (if I’m not mistaken). He had a driver, who was a Serb from Belgrade and after we finished the meetings we went out walking through Prishtina and had few drinks. I asked them what was their impression, and this attaché told me that when he proposed to come to Kosovo everyone was against, telling him things just like those Japanese "never ever, it's dangerous like hell", but he was “surprised” to find out that it was absolutely different.
I had a case myself when I traveled to Serbia in 2001. People were telling me don’t go there, it’s dangerous, etc etc, but I went there and came back and nothing happened. No one really cared.
So, Ataman, if I keep saying that Belgrade or Budapest or some other city or country is a dangerous place to go; it’s a hell; you’ll get robed, etc etc, or if I say it is a lovely place; wonderful viewing; 100% security etc etc, will it make that city or country worse or better than it really is? I don’t think so. I’ve heard you say that you’ve visited Kosovo several times, so you already know that things are not as some portray them to be.
