France and Germany are explicitly against EU membership for Turkey (as it just about every European), while they support Serbia's entry eventually. Quite obviously, the secular religion arguement does not hold any water with regards to membership.

In fact Serbs have shown far greater religious extremism than the Albanians...

Oh that's right!! It was the SERBS who called Mr. Bin Laden and asked for some seasoned mujahadeen fighters to help keep back these agnostic/atheist albanian aggressors!

Kostas, even Turkey will get in before Serbia the way Serbia is going. When it comes to religion, Turks are secular, the same cannot be said about Serbia.

FYI:
EU is about WESTERN VALUES

Kostas: The majority of the people in Albania are atheists or agnostics. In fact Serbs have shown far greater religious extremism than the Albanians. Their religious leaders try to influence the politics of the countrie . You only hear the Serbs talk about Kosovo as their "Holy Land".
You get the picture.

Serbia should have been a member of the EU long ago. It is culturally, geographically and historically much more "european" country than many countries, that has already started negotiations for EU membership or are about to start. Best examples of such countries are islamic Albania, or even more islamic Turkey... Serbia belongs to Europe much more, than those countries do.
