Berlusconi in new sex scandal

Kosovo-USA to kate: "You are a female yourself and you should know the power and ganes females can play. Don't blame Berlusconi at all but premadonas that like to become famous on the backs of males."

Oh, yes, silly me. It is the fault of 17 year old models and escorts who have lured poor Berlusconi into doing what only comes naturally to the old lech, I mean, the red-blooded male.

As such a senior figure he must be so vulnerable, bless his Armani socks. His wife must have left him out of pity and not disgust at all.

As for those women politicians and other professionals (excluding 'entertainment' based professions)... well, they are all going to play those 'ganes' with men anyway.

Heck, that's probably the only reason they go into politics and other professions, just so they can catch a rich and powerful man and then sit back and start flower arranging and shopping. Of course they should then turn a blind eye to 'natural' Berlusconi-esque behaviour.

Then there are those freak women, Kosovo-USA, who actually develop their own careers and earn their own money to jointly support their families with men they actually WANT to be with and not NEED to be with. How freakish is that?!

You said that you have 5 children. If some of them are daughters I hope that your attitudes change towards women, for their sake.

Amazing how these politicians, brings to mind ex-US pres Clinton, can't resist the power euphoria their positions bring them. They are public figures representing nations, and cannot control themselves, or just believe they are above the commoners. It just shows their true character, none.

Well if he didn't openly promote women to positions of power on the basis of what they look like; spend his time with 17 year old models who call him Daddy; and have a harem of young girls flown in to his Sardinian villa; then maybe these escort girl allegations would be less believable and damning.

As it is it just sounds like another day in the life of Mr Berlusconi. He is becoming a figure of ridicule and of course it will undermine both him and the Italian govt on the international stage.

Berlusconi and Sarkozy just seem like characters from the 19th Century - it's like a real life Dangerous Liaisons, even down to the roles of Carla and Veronica Lario.

Those young women did not make Berlusconi sleep with them, but neither did Berlusconi make those young women sleep with him.

Both you and Kosova-USA overgeneralized. The point is, there are self-respecting women out there who would never tolerate the stunts of old lechers like Berlusconi, but there are also plenty others that choose to associate themselves with these types of men for exactly the same reasons that Kosova-USA mentioned. In the U.S. they're known as "gold-diggers"...and yes it's a very real phenomenon, especially in cities like New York.

At the end of the day, Berlusconi has always been Berlusconi even in his younger days. The Italians chose to elect him multiple times, despite all that and the recent ex-wife (the second) chose to marry him despite his reputation.

If I were you or an Italian, I'd focus on what he's done for the welfare of the country instead. Berlusconi needs to be held to account for doing almost nothing to restore Italy's economic growth, for trying to suffocate the judiciary, for undermining Italian democracy in general and for trying to suppress media freedom (remember the lawsuit against the Economist?)...but not for having bimbos in his house keeping him loaded with Campari and Viagra. That's his business however distasteful it may be...

ps: focusing on Berlusconi's achievements (or lack thereof) to the exclusion of his moral character is also problematic - but unfortunately the lack of the latter seems to go hand-in-hand with political success, which is a sad commentary on modern society.
