Why does puny EU need big & powerful Serbia?
(KOSOVARi, 18 June 2009 18:40)
o0o0o sarcasm! very clever!!
let me explain...
serbia is a country that is can sustain itself 100% (energy, agriculture etc.)without outside assistance...
the eu, on the other hand needs serbia in the eu because of it's geographically attractive position - whoever controls the gate to europe (beograd), controls the balkans and beyond...

3. The EU NEEDS Serbia, Serbia could care less.

Why does puny EU need big & powerful Serbia?
Serbia is continously asking for more and more money from EU. Serbia's dinar & inflation are going downhill. Things in beograd are worsening...what does Serbia offer to EU? Unemployment? Increasing inflation? An influx of migrants?

Dont get carried away. Visa abolishment for Serbia is a result of handing Karadzic to Hague, nothing else, this is if approved.
Until Kosova issue is resolved Serbia is going nowhere.

So what is it?
1. Tadic thinks Mladic is innocent or didn't do anything bad?
2. Is afraid of the radicals (Djindic)
3. Is testing EU's resolve
(Arrest Mladic, 18 June 2009 10:14)
how about 4. All of the above.
Seriously though,
1. Mladic is an angel compared to the likes of Oric, Ceku et al.
2. Goodbye to Tadic if he extradites Mladic.
3. The EU NEEDS Serbia, Serbia could care less.

Or maybe he just doesnt actually know where he is.

I bet Sweden will be looking out for huge IKEA investments in Serbia. SAA is important for these investments. I think IKEA sees Serbia to be their head office for regional operations.
Notice how Countries such as Slovenia, Italy, Austria... are the most vocal supporters of Serbia's EU integrations. They're also some of the biggest investors and trading partners and SAA is in their interest ASAP.
I wonder how much do Dutch or Belgium companies in Serbia earn from exports to EU countries?

So why doesn't Tadic arrest Mladic? It's extremely unlikely than in Serbia BIA cannot find Mladic. So what is it?
