im sure they deserved it! the kosovo police never beat anyone without reason!
(dan-ch, 15 June 2009 23:09)

so, the police have the right to beat up defenseless people if they have a "reason" for that?

actually it's funny to see so many comments saying that this can be justified in any way.

Peggy, I read yesterday another post by you in regards to the news of the 3 arrested Serbs on bribery allegation, this is part of your comment:
“Who knows what exactly was said and done but to claim that some are paying Serbs to lie about having their organs removed is ridiculous. What do you take the Serbs for? Idiots? Everyone knows that you cannot claim having an organ removed without having evidence of that. Anyway, they can only claim kidney removal. How can they claim heart of lungs being removed?

You Albanians are ready to belive every ridiculous claim you read about which makes the Serbs look bad but something as real al destruction of websites and property you brush off as kids being kids.

More hypocritical you cannot get.
(Peggy, 14 June 2009 04:00)”
As you can see here you accused Albanians of being hypocrites to believe some reporting made by police on some criminal activity, while you yourself believe a media reporting, which in this case is kind of foggy and presents only one side of the story, and no clear evidence whatsoever. So, isn’t this hypocrisy in itself?

You can tell the yellow journalism by simply connecting the dots.

"off duty police" that had badge x and x.

If you are off the beat, you don't wear your badge, there is no away would have seen it.

Dulo, what happened to you is wrong and that police officer should have been repremanded. Police are there to uphold the law and not break it. Assault is illegal no matter who does it.

These police officers had no right to take the man out of the bus and beat him. Who gave them the right to administer any kid of punishment?

My boyfriend was beaten up in a downtown restaurant Zurich/Switzerland in the 90's by a bunch of Albanians. They've heard us speaking Serbian, asked us in the middle of cafe to show our passports?!
So when he asked to leave us alone, they've jumped, 6-7 of them on him and started beating him.
One of them looked totally possessed.
THEn we were saved by the Swiss restaurant goers who jumped in between to separate them.

If I were an Albanian I would be seriously ashamed of these incidents that take place much too often.

I was beaten up by the SERB police in the ex-Yu. THEY WERE OF DUTY made no difference to the Serb authority. I was 16 yrs old.

My father was called and kept for 6HRS interogation. My crime was PASSING BY with my younger brother, their excuse was I raised a V sign (not true). I wasn't that brave. This 'beatings' we were quite accustomed to then.

Any police beating people without a reason should be behind bars.

Yet somehow this news reporting is not convincing enough to me. Lets just wait after this is investigated.

In my case there wasn't any authority's I could have complained to.

I assure that if responsible they will dearly pay.

Kosova is and will stay democratic.

Hey guys, let me tell you this; if the Kosovo Police Officers want to torture or beat serbs there are hundred ways for them to do so. I see some serb posters in here that have no idea about police duties. Guys if you never heard about police on duty 24/7 Kosovo is the place where you can learn. You also can learn about the use of proportional force, with the only reason to take the situation under control.
Somebody tell these guys how to behave when driving in KOSOVA. I am sure the police only wanted to tell these guys how to respect the traffic...lol

People, the whole point here it's not if they were off duty or not, most of as commenting here live in western countries and we know very well that when necesary police will put you under arrest off duty or not,in the bar, restaurant, supermarket etc... the only way this should be viewed is if there was a reason or not, perhaps if anything like that happened at all,no need to jump into conclusion and blaming Albanians right away,as we all know Serbs too aren't angels either.

These Kosovar police were "OFF DUTY" - so it doesn't matter if the victims were Chinese, they should not have been intimidated to get off the bus let alone get beaten.

To PZ @12,

Read the article again. Here is a bit of it.

The driver tried to maneuver around it when two KPS members, with no explanation or warning, wearing badge numbers 9383 and 8285 – reportedly off duty at that point – took him and his father out of the bus, threw them on the ground and started beating them.

They WERE OFF DUTY at that point. The fact that they like to wear their badges even when off duty is another matter.

Don't you people ever run out of excuses for your angry mob who go on persecuting the Serbs?

Enough is enough. Learn how to live like law abiding citizens. I can see what poor suffering Serbs had to put up with for decades and still do.

May God help them.

myrid

pre 14 godina

If the Kosovo police is on duty 24/7 that might explain why they're running out of money.

Truth be told, it would more than surprise me that anybody is on duty 24/7. Furthermore, it is generally accepted that an off duty officer can not make arrests and play cops and robbers.

Regarding the badges. Simply maintaining the possesion of your badge does not mean you're on duty.

Unless you're officially working as a police officer at the time in question, you cannot carry on as if you were. Plan, Simple, Logical and Western Styled.

These unjustifiable defenses are borderline ridiculous. Police officers across the world have been tarnished because of the very few that behave, as these two seem to have; very badly and in contrast to the law. There isn't a week that goes by without a police officer in the States being accused of acting unbecoming to the badge. I would not be surprised one little bit that this natural human tendency, the tendency to crave power, runs deep within Kosovo's police force too. This isn't a direct attack on the police force in general, but if they protect their rotten eggs, it might become one.

Just like the racists that beat the living crap out of Rodney King (on duty police officers even), these racists that are beating the crap out of a few Serbian Minorities should be sent to a jail to meet some of the fellow criminals on more fair grounds.

I don't get the seperatists.

Instead of saying something like every community has some rogue police or that these two individuals do not represent the KPS (or something reasonable) they tell us that if it is true then the Serbs were the bad guys and had it coming and if it is false it is Serbian propaganda.

As a Serb I know i will never be welcome in a racist fake independent Kosovo, but as Albanian seperatists why don't you want Kosovo to be a functioning democracy-a place where it is not ok for the police to beat people in the street for any, and much less racist, reasons. Why do you think Kosovo will be a Utopia if you defend police corruption as a matter of National pride. Aren't there any reasonable separatists at all who want to live and prosper in a peaceful democracy or do all the seperatists fill the ultranationalist baby jingoist Nato serf stereotype?

Just wondering ...

I have seen photos of other Serbs beaten up by Albanians - with horrible bruises and injuries.

On the other hand - never a scratch on the Albanians who've claimed it against Serbs.

Macedonian doctors testified that none of the refugees during the war were injured - except to minor incidence in the camps - cut finger on a food can and there were rapes amongst the Albanians themselves there. Plus an Albanian raped an Israeli doctor who went their to aid them (but of course found no injuries among them.)

I wonder what excuse the Albanians will come up with for this story?

Perhaps they will say the Serb and his son commited war crimes against Albanians or that it's Serb on Serb violence.

This is the everyday life for minorities in Kosovo. This behavior strengthen Serbs resistance not to accept any promises from Albanians or the Americans.

What do you expect from this illegal, immoral and fake 'state', which was created by Biden and Hillary. Nothing surprises me. These cops, instead of being fired, will probably be promoted.

Peggy

pre 14 godina

There is no way these off duty policemen had any right to bash this man.
Even if they were on duty and the man was going to be arrested for something, a beating is not acceptable. This is assault.

Now the fact that these thugs were off duty makes it crystal clear that what they did was illegal. They should be charge with assault.

But then again, bashing a Serb is a sport in Kosovo so of course there will be no charges laid and the other thugs in charge will be either away on vacation or unavailable for comment.

Before all you Albanians jump up and down and say he was resisting arrest or something equally as stupid, just remember, these thugs were OFF DUTY.

Pz

“KiM Radio reports that the incident started as a van with "Kosovo license plates" blocked the bus on the outskirts of Priština.

The driver tried to maneuver around it when two KPS members, with no explanation or warning, wearing badge numbers 9383 and 8285 – reportedly off duty at that point – took him and his father out of the bus, threw them on the ground and started beating them.”
I agree A, the news/reporting is kind of vague, but if there was no reason to stop the buss and what KiM Radio reports is true, then that’s really unacceptable and those police officers should really get some punishment.

AlbanskiPatriot

Yet again Serbian propaganda at work. And why were these two Serbs beaten up if I may ask??? Is is maybe because they are smuggling something from north, or maybe a part of the organ donor connecting group?

Anyways, good work KPS for keeping the streets safe.

'Unless you're officially working as a police officer at the time in question, you cannot carry on as if you were. Plan, Simple, Logical and Western Styled.'

Off-duty officers can make arrests in the U.S. Police departments cover the details in their operations manuals.
I don't know what the regulations are in Europe.

I agree A, the news/reporting is kind of vague, but if there was no reason to stop the buss and what KiM Radio reports is true, then that’s really unacceptable and those police officers should really get some punishment.

to all who visit this site and make sarcastic comments and make fun of serbian suffering, how long do you think this stupidity will go on.Do you think that Serbs will take this forever?Do you think we will be humiliated by our own government and outside agitators forever,if anything you know Serbian mentality.

Serbs shouldn´t accept these thugs even when ON DUTY since they are albanian kla thugs, not "police".

Let serbs have their own real and educated police officers.

to Peggy -

These Kosovar police were "OFF DUTY" - so it doesn't matter if the victims were Chinese, they should not have been intimidated to get off the bus let alone get beaten.

What's right is right.

Dulo wrote,

Any police beating people without a reason should be behind bars.

Any police officer beating someone should be behind bars no questions asked. Police have no right to administer punishment. That's what the courts are for.
Dulo, what happened to you is wrong and that police officer should have been repremanded. Police are there to uphold the law and not break it. Assault is illegal no matter who does it.

These police officers had no right to take the man out of the bus and beat him. Who gave them the right to administer any kid of punishment?

Just wondering ...

im sure they deserved it! the kosovo police never beat anyone without reason!
(dan-ch, 15 June 2009 23:09)

so, the police have the right to beat up defenseless people if they have a "reason" for that?

actually it's funny to see so many comments saying that this can be justified in any way.
