Now I don't like the man but 15 months a bit too much.
When you consider that these days you can get 15 months for rape or killing somebody on the roads it makes you wonder...

So true. When you think that he would receive no more than a fine in Australia and the same would go for an Australian threatening a Serbian ambassador here the sentence is lengthy.

Although, I belive he should've been sent to a mental institution instead of prison because he will only come out crazier than he is when he goes in.

This man was a constant source of embarrasement for us here in Australia. He is clearly disturbed and should not have any weapons.
I can understand why this sentence for him as this is news here in Australia and not only do they mention his antics but then they go into the whole "genocide" accusation as well. It's very politicized here. Don't know what Damir has to do with war crimes but this story was linked to his.

I guess any Serb stepping out of line automatically brings up the rest too, so I guess Serbian justice had to be tougher this time, which turns out is not justice at all then.

I must say I agree with you. I think he received this because the courts are politicized and Damir is a national embarrassment; the Courts should not be concerned with saving face they should be concerned with justice.

However, perhaps any crime that involves a weapon of any kind (be that a knife, gun, automobile, club, sharp stick etc.) should involve a long stay at the crowbar hotel conveniently located up the river.

The bombs were "homemade" type - crude - and claimed to be leftover souvenirs from the Croatian war.

The guns were ones he had a license for, I'm pretty sure. He may have hunted or just collected guns. It is very common for Balkans men to have guns.

Is anyone else tired of Jelena Dokic and her whining "poor me" to the press all the time?
