You forgot to include the United States of America in that category! I think the US is even worse off compared to the other two countries you mentioned.

The only ones who would make these conditions are the ones who are against Serbia or against EU enlargement.

For a while these may take the lead, but in time the force for joining will be greater than their power to resist.

Anyone who respects Serbia and who wants Serbia in the EU will realise that the Kosovo issue has to be accommodated on an 'agree to differ' basis - that process seems to be well underway. The UDI is going to remain in the current half-way house indefinitely and there will be little will to change things for the worse or for the better.

I think the NATO issue is a non-issue - there is no necessity or major gain in having Serbia in NATO. The only reason for having Serbia in NATO would be if it wants to be there - and at the moment it does not want to be there.

The biggest force at work is the economic one - both Serbia and the EU stand to gain substantially by ever closer cooperation.

Dont be ridiculous, these countries are members i´n "partnership for peace" which in fact is the same.

All of them contributes with fresh cannon fodder to american and israeli occupations in the middle east and hosts soldiers from the aggression pact. Sweden which has been in peace for 200 years, invited the aggression pact to have war games in the north (now ongoing) to further escalate their wish for a second cold war with Russia.

There’s one BIG problem why Serbia cannot enter EU within the decade to come. And it has nothing to do with Serbia or any other country. The thing is that they are fed up with the problems that Lithuania , Estonia , Romania , Bulgaria and other newcomers already brought with themselves.

Sure there are some smaller problems each of which is an obstacle able to bar the membership Serbia is eager to have. We all know that some Serbophobe and Rusophobe states inside EU will always find a reason to prevent such a membership. We all know that the US needs legalization of their military base in Kosovo. We all know that neither NATO nor it’s economic branch do not greet national conflicts among their members.

We also know that sooner or later they will try to poison Serbia’s relations with Russia the way they are doing with the Eastern Partnership. We know that the crisis is still unpredictable and they are too worried about the fate of their own. The list of those IFs and WHENs is too long and so is the road to the EU. But obviously this is a good choice for Serbia if only you are patient and decisive enough.

Bon voyage !

Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Austria, Malta and Cyprus! EU members but not NATO members. So don't mix two different things!
And for those who think Russia or China are their future: Take a closer look at those countries: A few rich people and a huge majority living in poverty. Is that the future you want for your kids? Congratulations! That's Serbia's status quo!

Kosovo is an inseparable part of Serbia while we also maintain military neutrality. That is enshrined in our constitution and the only way to change it is through a referendum.
--
Get ready to change the constitution if you ever want to get in EU. Albanians were excluded from voting even as you added that "Kosovo is part of Serbia." The problem was gettign Serbs hooked to EU, most Serbs see the reality that Kosova is GONE! (60% think so already, in 1-2 years it will be 80%)

Šutanovac,

Of course it will be especially when it comes to recognising Kosova's independence. Do you think that Serbia will be allowed to join EU to block Kosova's entry? Don't be naive!

The EU leaders are not say to you now....because "Serbia has to meet other EU standards/conditions first" then you will face the REAL test.

Since joining NATO is extremely unpopular there is no point even discussing it. It is obvious that recognising Kosovo or joining NATO is not going to happen no matter how juicy a carrot is produced.

That's why these impossible conditions cannot be placed if they want Serbia to join the EU.

",without joining NATO Serbia will never join EU"

I really dont understand this obsession among Soros-duped teenagers in the eastern bloc to join this superstate. Take a look at the mass poverty unemployment and colonial wars for one thing, do you really think that the banksters are going to open up their pockets and let a rain of gold fall over you?

It´not only naive and redicolous, it´s dangerous, especially for Serbia since the only thing they opened up was the gates of hell over you ten years ago. Just like they did during the 1 & 2 ww.

Grow up and smell the coffee, your path should be to the east with the winners, Russia china venezuela and the rest of the world. €U is history very soon and a bad one at that...
