DSS: Prelude to new elections

The local elections in Zemun and Voždovac ought to be a prelude to elections at all levels, says Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Koštunica.

If DS supporters are happy with the way the economy and Belgrade are being run I hope they vote for the DS. After all a people deserve the government they elect

Very true, but just remember that this government let EULEX in which is to detriment of the remaining Serbs in Kosovo.

They might as well have declared it independent. So, just as I suspecte. People are more concerned about their own cushy existence (which is an illusion as even if you get into EU nothing will change) than supporting their brothers and sisters in Kosovo.

I have said it before as well. You get the government you deserve.

Ofcourse had Kostunica still been the p.m. Serbia would have been the only country that still would have seen an economic growth despite the global crisis.

Obvously Serbia needs another election, but only if Kostunica would win ofcourse.

Not many years ago the DSS wanted elections and the ruling Socialists said it was a bad idea. Not much has changed. If DS supporters are happy with the way the economy and Belgrade are being run I hope they vote for the DS. After all a people deserve the government they elect

The DSS leader said that "while he had led the government, the country had enjoyed economic growth, higher salaries and pensions, a state-building policy had been pursued towards Kosovo"

What Kostunica has conveniently omitted is the fact that he was prime minister during the negociations over, and run-up to Kosovo's independence. What history will remember him by is the fact that he fiddled while Kosovo declared independence and was recognised by the western democracies.

'I am tired of Vojislav Koštunica always calling for elections'

LOL, can you imagine what its like for Serbian citizens constantly hearing this call like a scratched record? And of course with nothing happening as a result of the call...

Horse, dead, beating. Not the first time, far, far from the last.

Time for new election! All those that Kujon mentioned came because Tadic let EULEX in and Serbs are integrating 100% in Kosova as Tadic stays silent. If Serbia had said no to EULEX (6 points. Haha!) nothing would have happened on visas.

Kostunica could have done the same thing, but he wants to defend Kosovo

I am tired of Vojislav Koštunica always calling for elections. You lost, the people voted, Visa travel is coming, the ICJ is making a decision on Kosovo, Serbia is closer to Europe (The Dutch need to stop being selfish) and their is nothing the supreme Vojislav Koštunica could have done to stop the global crisis which has affected Serbian citizens..that is why it is called a Global Crisis...
Not everything he stands for is wrong, but his party is not the answer. Stay the on the current path Serbia and you will be better off. And VK, stop crying for new elections, your time has passed.
