Rick first off I'm not saying that Europe is Godly. Apart from anything else I don't know what the word means or how to measure.
As to who started what, please remember nobody forced us in these parts to pick up weapons and fight one another. There may have been those supplying arms and encouraging us to fight but it was the 'ungodly' that decided to buy into this.
The truth being offered by SPC, as part of the christian religion, as part of the orthodox church is not a problem. What is a problem is when one branch of a church is accusing other parts of being ungodly or less holy.
As for greed, lies, manipulation etc. Well we saw plenty of that under Tito then even worse under Milosevic. As you know the current government have not exactly broken this trend.
Yes, we have quite enough ungodly problems in our own house, rather than accusing others of that.
MikeC, I don't think you can find any of the Christian religions condoning what took place at the prison in Iraq. However, I do not think you can say that about the atrocities Serbia committed in Bosnia, Kosovo and elsewhere in the Balkan's.
The glass house metaphor is a great one but I think you are aiming at the wrong people.

Please....I can't believe that you would be so naive as to think that Europe is so "Godly" and peaceful and that its leaders (some overtly and some covertly) were not the ones who started and continue the death and turmoil over the last 20 years or more in the Balkans. Serbs have been generally able to peacefully co-exist with Croats, Albanians, Bosniaks, etc- until the "Great Powers" decided through history to bring in propaganda, weapons, ultimatums....anything to create unrest for our peoples. Whether or not an individual believes in God does not detract from the truth being offered by the SPC. Look at Europe and the West- is greed, power, lies and manipulation all "Godly" traits??? It would behoove our Serbian leaders to believe more in God, as do the vast majority of Serbs.

Actually I think this is insulting to European christians from all denominations including orthodox.
On another level it is insulting to non believers (Serbs, Europeans, whoever) who believe in upholding national identity. Who is Amfilohije to tell them they have lost their identity?
