'Peace, well any other country would have used force after Kosovos independence move, look at Turkey bombing Kurds, the Tamil Tigers being destroyed as well.'

Have you really forgotten that they did try to use force in Kosova? Tadic is wise to promise not to try it again.

Denis is not time to move on, Tadic like him not is on a mission to join the EU.

Peace, well any other country would have used force after Kosovos independence move, look at Turkey bombing Kurds, the Tamil Tigers being destroyed as well.

Lets not forget also the KLA started the war in Kosovo by attacking police stations and Serbs,

Now lets look at the USA and the state of the world, lets face it most of the problems we see now are down to the Americans and there quest to police the world.

Tadic should be commended on not using force in Kosovo.

These peaceful policies are too late Mr Tadic. Thousands have died from Serbia's not-so peacefull policies.

Seems like Serbia is interested in peace, only when it's bombed into ressession, and it's forced to not send its army to kill and cleanse the others.

Where were these peacefull means for 10 years when Albanians tried to negotiate under Rugova?

michael,

What I critisize here is the WAY, the "peaceful message" is sent, in military fatigues, flanked by generals...etc. It looks more like a military warning.
As for our military deployment all over the world I remind you this French expression "nobless oblige". We have not only might but a sense of responsibility and justice to intervene whenever evil and dark forces want to get the upper hand. These interventions in the four corners of the planet are pretty expensive but we feel that we have a moral obligation to do it.

If that's the case Tadic, then why bother wasting money on our military at all? Clearly in your head the whole world sits around a camp fire singing Kumbaya...

When is a nations right to use arms justified if not to protect its territorial integrity? How many more attacks on your citizens in the south of our country will it take for you to realize this?!

michael

Joe.

If we are to understand you correctly, a soverign nation is not allowed to hold military excercises on it's own soil without consent or foreign approval? Sending a wrong message?

It actually sends a clear message that nations have a right to defend themselves from foreign and internal aggression such as NATO and KLA for example.

The US has hourly military excercies across the entire world, flexing its air, naval, and land foreces in the backyards of hundreds of nations. Where is your concern or condemnation that the nation of justice and democracy is actually the largest imperial army on the planet that has stretched it's sons and daughters into every corner of the world, by in large, uninvited.

Joe

What I find funny is the strange COINCIDENCE of Tadic's declaration of "peaceful policies" and his same time appearance in military fatigues with his generals. Strange way to send a "peaceful message" or was this done already the same way under Milosevic?

Yeah right. Pressuring K-Serbs not to cooperate with Albanians, encouraging them to through molotov cocktails at police and burning border check points is not exactly what the EU regards as 'peaceful policies'.

it seems french diplomats love calling serbia "the backbone of the region". which should give you a clue as to what kind of a role they see for serbia in their plans for the future.

Franco-Serbian relations will be back to where they belong once both governments have leaders that reflect the will of their people, and recognition of the fake, illegal, and immoral 'state' of Kosovo is rescinded.

Francoise Millou

If Mr. Tadic intends to repeat his favourite slogan "Both Europe and Kosovo", he will have a disinterested audience i Paris and should consider not coming here at all.

Maybe Carla will get a spot at EXIT next year. Sarkozy reminds me of a French Robin Cook.

I don't know why all the goading is taking place on here from the Kosovo Albanians. Serbia is an important player in Europe whether the nation decides to join the EU or not.

It is apparent for all to see that Carla and her husband would be far more comfortable visiting Belgrade than Pristina.

Europeans are far less comfortable than Americans about having streets named after them and being showered with adoration (apart from Bliar).

Serbia is a developed and recognised fellow European UN member; Kosovo remains legally a province which is being managed by the international community.

Sarkozy will never say anything which doesn't appear on the US song sheet.

EU wants to make sure that they do not import Serbian problems into EU.
I guess you know what problems I am talking about, since there are plenty. I case you dont know, than ask any Serbian citizens and they would more than glad to inform you.

Zoran

Serbia’s future is in the EU, it has no alternative and that the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement had been the first, irreversible step.
--
Don't you just love the language coming from these people? We have "no alternative" and these steps are "irreverible". Personally, I wouldn't be temping fate if I was them as the obvious alternative to EU membership is where we currently stand - out of the EU, with the current process being blocked. Also, this talk of something being irreversible sound more like something dictators would say! Now seriously, do the terms "no alternative and irreversible" sound democratic to you?

It reminds me of Kosovo where the EU/US claim the process of independence is irreversible but forget to mention that independence is irreversibly blocked by Serbia, Russia, China, Spain, Cyprus and many other countries.

Forget the dictators and time to grow up my fellow Serbian citizens. Lets never give up our right to have a choice and to choose what we believe is right within the laws of our own constitution.

It's time these Eurocrats stopped repeating what they want from Serbia and what Serbia has to do to be "acceptable" to them. Instead they must listen to the Serbian people themselves and also apologise for the injustices visited on the country over the past few decades.

For the first time since the unuseful "vacation trips" of Little Vuk a top Serbian Official will meet someone in EU that have a "real " say..
That's an important thing now let's see if something good will come out...
