Jovan, you took my words completely out of context. I said nothing of a puppet government nor anythng about a mafia clan. (What is a mafia clan anyway?) I basically said the kind of people who should be in power are the kind of people who do not want to be. It is a thankless job with constant blaming by the media and other politicians. As to voting, I vote in every election as do many others. Just because I vote does not mean who I vote for gets the job. Obama/Biden ran on a platform of change. Americans wanted a drastic change after the last 8 years. (For the record, I did not vote for them.) The change we got was to basically put the Clinton administration back in office. We all know how well that worked for Serbia last time.

Ron, since you brought this up.
When you read Србија (that Serbia in Cyrillic), do you say it is misspelled?
Or even in Latinic, „Srbija“!!! Is that misspelled ?
When somebody use „Shqipëria“ instead of „Albania“ do you think it is misspelled ?
If somebody writes „Crna Gora“ for Montenegro, do you think that it is misspelled ?
(blero, 21 May 2009 17:22)

Blero, you are comparing chalk and cheese here and obviously clutching at straws.

The examples you provided are all legitimate examples of how people write names of certain countries in their own country and how it is written for international consumption.
KosovA is not used anywhere. Even your own leaders refer to it as KosovO and it is written on your own passports that way.

If KosovA was accepted than that would be on your passports not KosovO.

You just can't help but to distort a Serbian word in order to make it your own.

first of all one sentence written by Biljana deserves to be repeated:

"All Serbia has to do is to wait until right time comes and then take all the appropriate steps in re-integrating its province completely."

that´s exactly my opininon too. Time is on Serbia´s side, and all those quite childish comments about "kosova" make me smile on a daily basis, given that it displays the limited capability of our dear albanian friends to look into the future and think realistically about the changes that are already taking place all over the world.

Biden´s visit has no greater meaning, actually, it´s more of a showing-presence-thing and a support for the installed "governments".

Serbia will prevail, I know many of those who are boasting about "kosova" fear that to happen, and feel good when some VP of the US comes to tell them fairytales, but, ..they do not have to fear anything, the only problem is, that there will have to pass some time until they realize that the US are not their friends...

Serbia can wait, and it will wait. and when the moment is right, you will see what unconquerable willpower means.

the Ottomans had to learn it, and they were much more powerful than the US are today.

let´s just see what future brings.

as for Patrik:

the average US-american is against this illegal puppet-entity, driven by mafia-clans...

but that doesn´t count. it is your duty to step out there, and to vote, in order to change something in your country, and I mean a REAL change, not that kind of alibi-"change"...

Patrik,

Rest assured that Serbs have nothing against American people, but against American policy. We know how to make difference between the ordinary people and official country's policy.
Our dissatisfaction with the American policy applied in Balkan, especially Serbia, has really nothing to do with the American people, nor we judge ordinary people.

"It is clear that Serbia will not recognize Kosovo. It can at least accept its membership in the General Assembly, in order to give Russia the signal to stop blocking Kosovo,” he was quoted as saying.-Daniel Serwer

Now, this is interesting to read.
I wonder is he delusional or what?
Or is it USA so desperate and tired of going around the world
and use pressure (well known American tool)on some poor micro Islands in
order to somehow legalise and justify mistake called “Kosova” and all that for the sake of not loosing entire credibility.
But how they can legalise something that majority of the world do not recognise and when there are two huge obstacle called Belgrade and Moscow?
I thought that “Kosova” is done deal and Belgrade’s approval does not matter at all.
Who cares what Belgrade says? Is it so?
It seems to me, it matters a lot. At least that is the conclusion I made after reading
Serwer’s proposal.
Even if we presume that majority of the world (under the pressure and blackmails) has recognised Serbian province K&M, it would still mean nothing until Belgrade approves and signals Moscow to soften its stance in the terms of blocking Kosovo from General Assembly membership.

So, Albanians, I don’t know what lies Biden has told you today, but look
what is Serwer asking from Belgrade and then make own conclusions.
I know Biden told you exactly what you wanted to hear, but the reality on the ground
looks a bit differently.
Besides, aren’t you sometimes at least doubtful (if not ashamed) when it comes to “Kosova”and its possible survival in long run after all the pressure and force that have been applied to some countries in order to recognise Kosovo. If I was Albanian, I would have wondered how long the creation made out of force is going to last. Or, how long it may last? I am very curious?
All Serbia has to do is to wait until right time comes and then take all the appropriate steps in re-integrating its province completely.
I admit, I would also like to see Republika Srpska integrated completely into Serbia and I trully hope that this is going to happen as well. And to emphasize that this wish has nothing to do with some "Greater Serbia" project, but just a simple wish and understanding that all Serbs should live in one state.
I would go that far to even swap Sothern part of Kosovo for Republika Srpska.

"Biden is the pinnacle of US Hipocracy and this visit only reinforces it. You can see it in his face he doesn't want to be there and despises everyone he met. You can't fool me with that used car salesman smile of his."

Believe it or not, the average US citizen does not appreciate this kind of 2 faced approached. In fact, many of us have given up on ever electing a government who will truly represent the people. No one is perfect and anyone who is truly qualified is too worried that our out of control media will expose some past skeleton in their closet and has neither the patience nor the inclination to deal with that. I have enjoyed many extended visits to Belgrade and will continue to do so. Please do not judge the entire US based on the idiocy of a few US politicians. I will continue to support all of you. Please offer the same courtesy to the "average US citizen". This really breaks my heart.

Like I said a few days ago, the trip and the speeches were much ado about nothing.

Biden goes to Bosnia and tells them to integrate or be left out of the EU. Great job Churchill! Now how exactly does he intend that to happen when he a) did not meet with representatives of RS and b) ignored the initiative to fragment Federacija even further?

Then he goes to Serbia Proper to emphasize that the US does not expect, nor will it force, Serbia to recognize Kosovo. Well thanks a lot Mr. Vice President for going to a country and not forcing it to accept your support for an instant oatmeal government via international eminent domain. The only thing is, if the US wants to rebuild bilateral relations with Serbia, mucking around in Kosovo is somewhat counterproductive.

Then he goes to Kosovo Province and is greeted as a god by his willing supplicants in Pristina who probably spent most of the previous day puckering up. He says Kosovo's independence is irreversible and partition, like Bosnia, unacceptable, and like little seljaci they all think this to be worth more than a Papal bull. Once again, I ask how genuine US support is, when it basically allowed Serbia to continue to erode Kosovo's sovereignty the day before, offered no solution to the apparatchiks in power who wish to dominate Serb municipalities but have no ability to do so, nor offered any tangible support except diplomatically scratch Thaci behind the ears, say "good boy" and offer him a treat.

Feel-good speeches and time away from Washington. I'm sure it meant something but aside from restating what is painfully obvious to US foreign policy, I can't figure it out.

It happened that after Chaney people learned that in the US they also have a VP. By now a US VP has no formal obligations and real power. Until Barak is alive Joe is just his spokesman and deputy Secretary of State. So whatever he says is just a probe of the Serbian soil. In any case JB is better than B52 … I personally believe that one more goal of the visit is worth being mentioned. I mean support for Tadic & Co.

The US are realistic enough that their empire is close to a collapse. So they make preparations for the period when they will be unable to help their allies abroad. Serbia is the only state in Europe able to cause a domino kinda developments. So we are witnessing the US hawk and his Spanish slave travelling the Balkans. Bon voyage !

How about US stop blocking RS first- allow them to break free from BiH & join Serbia?

One visit and a gourmet dinner and they already want to strike a major deal without offering anything in return.

You got breathing room that's all...all while Kosova consolidates power and becomes a recognized state. This is the carrot, wait for the stick.

"Every day American diplomats pressure foreign affairs ministers and ask them when they will recognize Kosovo.”

Why do the Americans need to pressure anyone to recognize Kosovo? Can't the countries in question decide for themselves if they wish to recognize or not? America has made a big mistake. To legitimize this mistake they are pressuring countries to also legitimize the misstakes of the previous American administration(s). The only recognition that counts is the one from the Serbian people and that will never come.

Political analysts in Serbia see the visit of U.S Vice-President Joseph Biden as a rekindling of America’s interest in the Balkans. Woopdy do lets all dance the kolo. What will it cost the Balkans and what kind of slavery how many centuries will it last this time around. What a nonsense anyone how has intreset in the area the people will pay for it dearly!

Blero, you are comparing chalk and cheese here and obviously clutching at straws.

The examples you provided are all legitimate examples of how people write names of certain countries in their own country and how it is written for international consumption.
KosovA is not used anywhere. Even your own leaders refer to it as KosovO and it is written on your own passports that way.

If KosovA was accepted than that would be on your passports not KosovO.

You just can't help but to distort a Serbian word in order to make it your own.

Patrik,

Rest assured that Serbs have nothing against American people, but against American policy. We know how to make difference between the ordinary people and official country's policy.
Our dissatisfaction with the American policy applied in Balkan, especially Serbia, has really nothing to do with the American people, nor we judge ordinary people.

first of all one sentence written by Biljana deserves to be repeated:
