You had a choice go with USA and EU or with Russia
now looks like you lost both
(Peggy, 21 May 2009 05:53)

No Peggy, you're wrong!. Serbia is on Eurpoean map and there is no USA or Russia involved in here.
We Albos do have USA as our closest friend/ally but we're on European map which means...............!

I wonder what these radicals are wearing today. Oh right, business clothes.

All they care about is votes.

Yeah, I'm sure Biden was extremely hurt when he saw your $5 homemade t-shirts in Parliament. Oh, wait a min, he didn't even notice you were alive! And now he's humiliating you further by having a grand reception in Kosovo. LOL.

That picture sums up the Radicals for what they are, a bunch of wingnuts.

If they wished to make a protest they should have done it in a far more dignified manner like simply waving banners, wearing T-shirts bearing the racist comments by Biden from 1993 and engaging in a silent protest both inside and outside the parliament.

The Radicals (now reduced to a rump)are Serbia's answer to the UK's Monster Raving Loonies, a jokeshop full of malcontents with no coherent policies. Indeed at their current state, the SRS are very much like what the the British Labour Party were like in the early 1980s when they were infiltrated my the Trotskyist Militants tendancies led by Peter Thatchell and Derek Hatton. Like the Labour Party, the SRS are completley unelectable. No policies to note and are just seen as a bunch of outdated cranks who are completley out of touch with society.

No wonder Nikolic left. The DS/G17/SPS coalition are doing a sterling job in trying times. Can you imagine if the Radicals were in power. God help us all.

Ataman,
I hear what you are saying, but I respectfully disagree. Bye the way, there were such signs all over Belgrade showing the human devastation of that 78 day war crime 10 years ago which Biden is responsible for.
I think Biden needs to be reminded, wherever he goes, that there are educated people out there who know what he is, how much he has lied, what things he has done, what corrupt money from albanian and croatian lobby groups have turned him into.
That is why it warms my heart when I see elected government ministers in the Serbian parliament hold up signs calling him a 'nazi scum'. Have a read:

Kolundžija stressed that those issues where Belgrade and Washington hold opposing views "should not represent an obstacle to the development and improvement of the cooperation between the two countries".

Tadic and his coalition members are "spinning" Biden's statements and US intentions to keep the Serbian people confused. These "obstacles" are not minor "obstacles" like trade barriers or discrimination, or something- this OBSTACLE is that the US wants us to believe that it's OK for Serbia to have our sovereign territory taken away....but that we should still be friends because we have so many common interests. It's like the bully who cuts your arm off, but then really wants to be friends. If the US REALLY wants friendship and cooperation, then they should pay the billions of dollars in reparations to Serbia for all of their bombing which destroyed thousands of lives and billions of dollars in our infrastructure. But somehow, I don't think the US wants to apologize....only to "re-set" our relations. Thanks, but no thanks. I think that Serbia has better friends out there.......

If nothing else, Joe Biden is the consummate empty politician - his visit means exactly one iota short of nothing, except that the Balkans are not at all a priority for Obama. Neither Bosnia, nor Serbia or Kosovo (its Province) will get any more financial or political support than they've gotten in the past 5 years, and in all likelihood they'll get less - if for no other reason than that we Americans and Brits are buying less stuff, generating less taxes, leading to negative growth, etc.

To me Biden is the perfect symbol of the astounding absence of smart thinking being exhibited by an administration that promised big and has thus far only reneged and reneged. Those who still support this Mr. Yesterday Neoliberal Best Friend of the Anglo-American Military Industrial Complex, or his empty pomp and circumstance, like Mr Jovanovic, have yet to learn the abc's of geopolitical economics and wake up into the massive hangover nightmare of dumb liberal consumption and resource wars that the western economic hegemony has trapped us all in; those who oppose him with stupid t-shirts praising another friend of the backwater militant nationalistic conservative wing in Serbia are mostly just exhibiting their utter inability or lack of interest in participating in genuine political engagement, innovation or pragmatism (also once known as "public service").

Biden should have been treated with nothing more than the suspicion of an arch-enemy who might, if he's not as stupid as he invariably sounds, help Serbia cautiously repair its damaged international business/commercial relationships. Nothing else. Short of this, he is the classic stooge of the brutish, stubborn leftovers of the Russia-encirclement school of political idiocy that now has the Americans and British bankrupting their economies and generations of their kids to support. The question is not when this set of policies will fail, because it cannot but fail miserably and catastrophically, but rather whether our kids will agree to pay for it when they get the bill.

Yet Serbs must not isolate themselves and remain in contact with the leaders of the Golden Billion. If I were you I would try to hide my disgust and hatred and do something to search a way out from the deadlock of Kosovo and other regional problems you have.

I like Toma’s position concerning a walk through Belgrade . You have to demand at least moral satisfaction and rehabilitation for all the mud they have poured at your heads. But to tell the truth his idea of joint EU membership does not look very realistic. Best if he asks Biden why should other nations enjoy independence while Serbs living in enclaves of Kosovo , Croatia or Bosnia & H are deprived of this privilege ?

Right now Serbia should concentrate on international investigation of the events before and after 1999. And every side to protest such developments will uncover itself. The investigation could be conducted under the umbrella of UN GA where we are much stronger than in Europe.

I am very uneasy about Cedo not just because he sounds like Viktor Orbán - he even looks (somewhat) like VO. Serbia does not need person cult or an other "mini-duce".

As for Cedo's support for Albanians: Viktorka begun as a liberal politician and the "real" duce begun as a socialist. But we see a fascist even if he wears sheep's skin. I smell somewhat foul about Cedo.

Errggghhh... pretty childish. Instead, they should wear t-shirts with Biden's earlier quote about Serbs and confront him. Much stronger message and it would be right on the target. Instead what they achieved: now Biden dismisses the entire gang, acknowledging that some people did not grow up.

You may wear a shirt what you feel is proper - the weight of the message on that shirt is not as much. They are politicians and they should do a better job confronting Biden than merely trying their best to make him angry.

Other things would be pictures of burned Serbian churches in 2004 or bombing the train at Grdelica. There are million ways to show the "appreciation" for his deeds - but this was the politically least mature.

The ruling coalition, on the other hand, sees the results of the visit from a different angle. Democratic Party (DS) official and ruling "For a European Serbia" coalition whip Nada Kolundžija told reporters in Belgrade this Wednesday that Biden's messages that America is ready to support Serbia's EU path, and that Washington is aware Belgrade will never recognize Kosovo's independence

Why such illiteracy in the Serb parlament? Biden explicitly said "Doesn't expect Serbia to recognize Kosova soon". He never said "never".

Over and over again they insist on having their voices heard out loud, never mind the cost to their country's reputation and interests.

By the way, if 10 years on, Nikolic still has not figured out why Serbia was bombed, then he's probably among the dimmer bulbs in Serbian politics.

LOL.

"Kudos to Mr. Jovanovic"
The Serbian offer of Kosovo having more than autonomy, but less than independence still stands.
As a bonus you (Albanians) might ask to have Mr. Jovanovic as head of the Serbian province of Kosovo south of Ibar.

I love those t-shirts. It reminds me of Nigel Farage when he came into European Parlament with a green sweater written on it ''Respect the Irish No'' together with all the Eurosceptis of EU Parlament, waving little flags and booing the rest of Euro Parlament Elite.
Best. Ever.
