The reason those soldiers were in a civilian hospital is because they were injured and the closest military hospitals had been hit - just like the old military hq in beograd, they had a hospital there too, and it was hit with a tomahawk.
and another thing, it takes atleast 18 healthy soldiers to operate an anti-aircraft system, it needs to be setup before you can use it.

Actually, milosevic was nothing more than a scapegoat. You want to blame someone, blame the US and the rest of Europe for wanting to rid europe of communism/socialism - communism is the most evil thing in the world - thats why for the last 80+ years the americans have been flying around trying to force Democracy upon everyone, from serbia to iraq to vietnam.
They fired a tomahawk into milosevic's house, they tried to do what ever they could in order for the signing of their 'treaty', they bombed civilian targets in order to try and over throw milosevic with someone who would sign. Thats why iztbegovic wouldnt take up milosevic's offer to run yugoslavia - he preferred the pay off from the us more and having his own 'bosna'. tudjman was a pig all together. Milosevic never even fired a gun, and he ended up dieing like a dog in the hague... while all the other former leaders, including the UCK terrorist leaders run free, sitting around in comfortable leather chairs sipping coffee.

thats what we call democracy.

BELGRADE -- Belgrade Mayor Dragan Đilas has laid a wreath at the memorial at the Dragiša Mišović hospital to patients and VJ troops who perished during the NATO bombing.

I wonder what VJ troops were doing at the civilian hospital?
Or maybe they have instaled Anit-aircraft batteries to target NATO planes.
Condolences to the family members, but who ever gave the order to use civilian hospital for military purposes should stand trial.

There were lots of people killed throughout the Balkans. We should not remember those killed in this incident without also acknowledging the thousands who died elsewhere.

There appears to be a lot of denial in the postings about why Serbia became the pariah it did. I personally blamed Milosevic for the victims a year before the bombing took place. I saw it coming and wondered why the Serbian government did not take steps to avoid it. There was a bravado attitude that angered me, and I remember thinking - 'don't they realise that people are going to die'?

I blame Milosevic for what occurred - he took Serbia down a wrong nationalistic road and deserved to be stopped. After the terrible role in Bosnia, the west politically had to stop a repeat in Kosovo. That is what lays behind the reason why (sadly) people died in the hospital.

"Fortunately, Obama is the new president and things will change. This may mean a stalemate in Kosovo, but I do not foresee another unilateral American action against Serbia."

Nothing will change. Obama is all talk and no substance.
If Obama was sensitive about the Serbs he would not have sent Biden there. He is not stupid and must've know how painful Biden visit is bound to be. If he had any sensitivity about the rest of the world he would not have put Clinton and Biden in those positions. He has only recycled the old cronies. He doesn't care. What exactly has separated him from the previous two administrations? Same staff an a lot of hot air.

You all are missing the point. Biden and others DID know about this and were supporters of "bringing the war home to the Serbian people" as Senator Joe Lieberman once said. Biden wouldn't care if he visited that hospital. The problem is that for some US officials, it didn't matter whether they killed soldiers or babies, so long as they were eradicating Serbs. Fortunately, Obama is the new president and things will change. This may mean a stalemate in Kosovo, but I do not foresee another unilateral American action against Serbia.

This is the real story for today and will not be reported in western media. No, Biden would be lost for words if he knew about this. His vocabulary for this sort of thing is rather limited below 35,000ft.

Hey Agim!

What about those Serbs who came from Bosnia and Kosovo who faced the same music in Serbia?

In war everyone pays the price! No matter who you are.

Biden will hear (and has heard) many more stories from Albanians and other Balkan countries.

Not to forget and never allow something like this again!

Will someone please inform Mr. Biden about this anniversary?

OOOps, I forgot that he thinks all Serbs should be locked into concentration camps, so I guess he wouldn't give a damn.
