Really I am tiered of my fallow Albanians complaining here.

I travel to KS quiet Zurich, or Vienna and 70% have Yugoslav Passports and plan to get the new Serbian ones.

I do see more KS passports now, but all will get Serbian one if allowed since otherwise they cant drive home for summer trust me i here these conversations 99% of the time.

Stop being patriots on a blog where most people can have dual citizenship. Serbia and Kosovo allow it. I personally do not have one document that is issued from PR not since I feel Serbian I am Shqiptar Albanian, just do not see the point until those documents can do something for me.

I work and travel EU, Russia and USA no one asks a question with KS one cant go most places (think telling my boss cant go there due to being patriot in this economy i will loose my job)

Even after I receive my EU passport in 6 to 7 months I will keep Serbian one.

I am telling the truth not due to feeling serbian or such I just do not see Nationalizam and all this strange arguing between each other helpful.

If there was a choice to be born some other place I would because of this hate that serounds us all, I dont hate Serbs I am albanina, I dont hate non in this earth.

Brothers remember you who claim Albaninas will not take Serbian Passport due to patritisam more issue due to some strange political reason.

As per Kosovo Serbs did act bad but KS leadership today is just as worst if u want to open any business in KS u need to pay 10% monthly fee to H. TH or you need to pay to Ramush. So wake up start moving toward EU and KS needs a revulution to get rid of this crazy gangsters asap. Not ever go under Serbia that just does not work is like going with wife that has cheated or beaten you together.

PEace to all and stop listening to fullish things 2 number passports do not exist if u get it u will get the right one.

Even if it would be true: you overestimate their knowledge about Europe as whole. It is good to remember, State Dept. had hard time to find people capable to translate the phrase "Reset Button" to Russian properly. They probably won't mind to pressure - but I am not sure, they are familiar with the importance of the "white list".

Major Crime Figures would be interested in avoiding. Using a different numbering system on a passport issued to someone from Kosova would be the equivalent of saying to the rest of the world, "actually, we have no idea who this guy is - good luck!"
(Amer, 14 May 2009 21:53)

Amer, I have a feeling the "Major Crime Figures" aren't interested into Serbian or any other "minor" passport or Königsberg. They have the best documents, maybe with diplomatic immunity. And the name inside has nothing to do with what their parents gave them.

As for corruption: the biggest difference between Germany and Kosovo is merely the "price" of Big Brother.

So the "West" should not be so proud and telling everyone in Balkans, how much more morally developed they are. Their officials are simply more expensive than ours.

it´s strange. there are still Albanians who believe to lose their albanian identity if they get the serbian passport.

Agim, you are and you will stay an ethnic Albanian.

it´s only about the citizenship.

perhaps some other K-albanian should explain that to you...

in order to avoid the impression of a Serb "lecturing" a K-albanian, of course.

Agim

---"If you renounce your citizenship like many of the Albanians have done, you can't ask for it back. It doesn't work like that."

Serbia has to adopt this law then. Make it clear, why don't they?

---"Clearly, the EU fears that many Albanians will attempt to get Serbian travel documents the first opportunity they get, which would totally destroy the Albanian warlords' illegal proclamation of independence."

Yeah, getting a passport means that they want serbia to return. Some logic. Ask how many non-Croats have Croatian passports from Bosnia?

Anyway, Serbia must choose: wait for Kosova to be ready for the white list or refuse to issue passports to Albanians. We know what they second one means.

Fear not, the Americans will solve this very soon. Stuart Jones visited the EU capitals and set the stage for a US Special Representative for the Balkans. He will make EU use the stick and carrot more efficiently.

Interior Minister Ivica Dačić is expected to offer further responses, as well as a guarantee that EU member-states will not be subjected to the spread of crime and corruption from Serbia. Sure the EU has more then enough of their on criminals from the top down and they don't like the competition in to their EU territory the economy is already very hard.

'They actually did it earlier (and still done) with British citizens. There are "first class" and "second class" (from some overseas territories) British citizens.'

The difference would be that in the case of the British overseas territories, the British government would have access to if not control of the necessary records. The problem with Kosova is that the Serbian government wouldn't (unless they go through UNMIK?). To get a passport you have to prove your citizenship plus go through a criminal and security records check - exactly the sort of procedure Major Crime Figures would be interested in avoiding. Using a different numbering system on a passport issued to someone from Kosova would be the equivalent of saying to the rest of the world, "actually, we have no idea who this guy is - good luck!"

Blero,

Technically the Schengen visa for Albanians, Serbs, Russians is not a big issue even now. The "right" Schengen country has to be applied at, that's the "trick".

Fortunately, these are usually the first countries to enter. And besides, who does not need visa to Russia - there is than little known loophole of Königsberg.

Russia and Belarus do not make any difference between "Serbian" and "Serbian" passport: no need for visa to visit Königsberg or Minsk. And that means: much more streamlined Schengen visa application since no other way to visit either.

And here I question how really clever these bureaucrats are. Because who really wants to go, they will anyway. But the situation for people who just want to make a short visit to France or Germany and are 100% honest about their tourist plans - they are being tortured at the "wrong" embassies.

It's not that simple, Olf. If you renounce your citizenship like many of the Albanians have done, you can't ask for it back. It doesn't work like that. Those Albanians that have a so-called 'Kosova' passport cannot ask for a Serbian one. It's one or the other. Could you please tell me who are you referring to when you use big words like “normal Albanians who want to be a part the Serbian state”?
No normal Albanian will ever want to have anything to do with Serbia state.
To finalise:
If I (a normal Albanian) have to choose between the “some black hole narco entity run by local warlords like Hasim Taci” (as you put it “politely”) or a state that massacred women and children (Serbia) I will always chose the first one.

Your comment would be correct if the EU requested from Serbia not to issue passports to Albanians inside Serbia.
We (Kosovo Albanians) have Kosovo Passports. Kosovo Serbs have the right to dual citizenship therefore they can decide themselves which one they want.
As such I have no issues with this EU requirement.

EU found a way to undermine the new Serbian passport, not fair.

Problem is not only with Kosovars(Albanians, Serbs, Boniacs ...) but with Bosnian Serbs too.
By the way, Kosovars have their own passports and are getting visas very easy so I pressume they do not need one, except for criminals that might be buying Serbian one.
2. If Serbia does not issue passports to Kosovars than it recognises Kosovo as state indirectly, no matter if they number them differently.

What use of the white list when poeple have no money to go ot Montenegro never mind EU.

They actually did it earlier (and still done) with British citizens. There are "first class" and "second class" (from some overseas territories) British citizens.

So EU wants "first-class" and "second-class" Serbian citizens. How "cute".

This is a good news for Hungarian border guards, I guess. With ruined economy, It will be an excellent source of income to "overlook" the passport number by a "mistake".

Have 10 € inside your Serbian passport and no one will care about the number. But don't expect to see that 10 € back.
