Don't listen to Kacin. When Slovenia was heading the EU, they were caught taking marching orders from George Bush's White House.

He was blasting the Greeks for stopping Macedonia's entry because of a bilateral dispute, and then like a hypocrite, he stopped Croatia because of a bilateral dispute. Slovenian politicians are not to be taken seriously.

Kacin said that “how fast Serbia moves” will have a bearing on the speed of integration of other countries in the region.

Serbia has not yet submitted its application for EU membership and is in the same group with Bosnia and Kosovo.

Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania have already submitted their application for EU membership.

WRONG! Serbia can only effect Kosova and Bosnia. Kosova will be affected by Serbia only if some states still hold out and Bosnia if Serbia sponsors trouble there. That's all. Albania, FYROM, and Montenegro are free to move ahead without Serbia. If Serbia doesn't go with the program, it will be left behind, as they have so much baggage (apologize for 1990's, solve the Kosova "situation," catch war criminals, pay reparations)

Kosova isn't ready anyway so maybe it's good that Serbia is stuck, get them in EU at the same time.

The italian foreign minister not 1 month ago said, that Serbia should join the EU before Albania.They both agree not to veto each others membership application for Nato and EU. So Serbia does have a bearing on Albania, as for Croatia, many times it has been said that serbia and croatia join together so Croatia does not veto Serbia's application. Croatia's application is being delayed as we speak, and now its said they have no chance for its completion this year. Who is delaying their application, its Slovenia, what nationality is Kacin, he is Slovenian, does he know something we dont know.

Probably in each country he goes in WB he says that the country where is staying will be first !!

Croatia is being blocked by his friend... Slovenia. This is a sad affair.

But hey, no Lisbon treaty, no enlargement!

Serbia will have to wait.

Albania is way to poor. Same for Macedonia. Kosovo is a province, not a state!

It will take a long time before all six (not seven!) YU states are in EU. Sadly...

But really, in Western Europe almost everyone is against enlargement now!

Croatia and Serbia will be the first to enter the EU , however it may take Serbia longer. Serbia is far better off building on its strong trading relationship with Russia while also building investments with Europe. This does not necessarily mean becoming a member of the EU where Serbia is far behind in Economic infracture and GDP.


Albania, FYROM, Montenegro will have a far longer wait, the economies are not sustainable. Kosovo is a basket case and the EU will realize just like the Yugoslav federation did, a black hole of corruption.
