Serbs from Brđani in northern Kosovo have asked EULEX police for permission to begin reconstruction of their houses, just as local Albanians are already doing.

safet, "Milosevic propaganda" What year do you live in, you know hes dead right?
"then they can pick up some scraps" you are so fair you should be in politics. Is your real name Hasim Thaci by any chance?

Freedom, what do you know about Vojvodina? Nothing judging by your comment. your comment also acknowledges the fact that Kosovo is Serbian and you have stolen it from Christians.

Can I just clarify something please? For all those who are agreeing with the teargas approach to the Serbs and for all those who are claiming the Albanians should be allowed to rebuild before any Serbs, was it not the case with the signed agreement that ANY rebuilding could not take place without the agreement from BOTH sides? Two questions arise from this...1. Who gave permission to allow the Albanians to start rebuilding and 2. Who gave orders to prevent the Serbs rebuilding. I seem to remember reading a number of posts in recent months proclaiming the ethnic tolerance of the self proclaimed "Kosovo Government". Do these incidents not clearly show the outside world that that so called tolerance is completely non existant? And why is Eulex acting in this way, I thought they were supposed to be neutral? Something appears a little wrong here wouldnt you agree?

I said this 10 times and will repeat every day again: fellow Serbs go to Kosovo and help your brothers and sisters with pursuing this protest. They need our help!

Another thing.. note how EULEX is readily walking over the rights of the non-Albanians. Hey people, soldiers, peace keepers, human beings- we know you are just a poor people who tries to earn the money for the college by serving the military but still: had the K-Albanians have completely eaten your freaking brains?

Mike, I agrre with you that it's wright for serbs to rebuild their homes south of Ibar river and wave their flags. But on the other hand, they should avoid provoking the albanians and try to live in peace.

We hear comments that the government of Kosovo has made funds available for the serbs who want to return to Kosovo. Why serbs don't use those fuds to rebuild their homes? Why Belgrade is not effectively helping serbs to settle in kosovo, but instead is using them for political game? I hope kosovo serbs return to their daily life and try to improve their living conditions.

Fair enough! Serbian demands are very reasonable and understanding.
Let’s wait now and see how EULEX will respond. Let’s see what is actually behind
this so called “house rebuild project” for Albanian families.

It’s a high time to wave Serbian flag in the south. It is just beautiful flag that deserves to
be waved in every corner of Serbia, including our province of Kosovo and Metohija, of course.
No one should have problem with that.

Freedom, I think you're once again comparing apples to patio furniture. If there's any German or Hungarian family members still alive from 1945, and actually WANT to return to the lands that were once theirs, there's little that's keeping them from doing it except the desire and the initiative.

K-Serbs on the other hand, actually WANT to return to their lands but are being kept from doing so for political reasons on both sides of the Ibar.

I mean a part of me, as a Volkdeutsch, should be happy you've decided to fight a battle I should be fighting, but no thanks. I went to where my family was expelled in Slovenia. It's in the middle of nowhere, and there's nothing left except a marker for where the Partisans shot a number of collaborators - both real and trumped up. Kocevje/Gottschee is a nice place, but aside from the German church, I can kind more excitement in Kikinda.

So it's a bit erroneous to compare the situation of people who are alive and wanting to return to lands they lost with people who are either long dead or no longer interested in something they lost one to two generations ago.

But if you want to fight the battle of displaced people in Vojvodina, take it up with Tito's corpse, rather than the current Belgrade government.

Miri, do you know what democracy is which you keep claiming is in Kosovo?

In a democratic society you can wave any flag you wish (except swastika) and nobody is going to react.
I've seen all sorts of flags on people's cars and not one car was destroyed by it.

So Miri, if you don't know what democracy is, I suggest you stop using that word in the same sentence with Kosova.

Guys Serbs and Albanians,

What these "protesters" want is not about rebuilding but how to undermine the Kosova. That is all about. We all know that Kosova is open to all its citizens Serbian and others.

Albans - You must be happy, becouse after 1945 You lived in Yugoslavia and Serbia but not in Poland or Czechoslovakia. In 1945 we and our Czech friends kicked out all of german fascist from our country. If Yugoslavia or Serbia does in 1945 similar with albanian fascists who supported Germans and Italians - today on Kosovo territory can live 95% Serbs (like in Poland) and will be no problems with Kosovo.

Why shouldn't Serbs be able to wave Serbian flags? Albanians in Kosovo wave the flag of Albania. I guess you want Serbs to also wave the Albanian flag? Croats, Bosnjaks and Albanians can be nationalistic and wave their flags but Serbs should be ashemed and prevented to be proud of their nation. Well, you can forget that. Times have changed. We will wave the Serbian flag proudly, wherever and whenever we want!

Sorry, Safet, but this isn't what the world signed up to, and it isn't what your government is saying. Serbs are to be treated equally (moreso than any minority is treated in the US, with their own local governments and all, but that was the deal). The government has put aside money from the donors' conference specifically for Serb villages, so there is funding available for those who want to return.

Don't look at the flags if you don't like them: the majority has responsibilities that minorities don't have, and you guys are the majority now.

This is the second disastrous campaign in space of a few months in which Serbs had to change course.
In politics you can’t continue to push back the goalpost. You’ll devalue your credibility as serious partner and eventually get punished.
Like with electricity exclusive rights have now been transformed into a fight for equality.
Oh but they enshrined in the Kosova constitution.
That makes me think that we are in for another lovely campaign.

Those Serbs should not be allowed to build their homes until they stop with their milosevic propoganda. The peaceful Albanian families that were harrassed should be allowed to complete, and all the albanians should get their chances first, then what might be left over, as long as Serbs will follow the rules of Kosovo, then they can pick up some scraps. This is Free Kosovo, and no Serb is going to take anything away from an Albanian.
