I wonder if it was Mladic that had turned up in Colombia whether there would be so much difficulty and controversy generated over arresting and deporting him back to Serbia to stand trial? Does anyone else feel like there is a bit of a double standard being applied by some people when they comment or act on Serbia's attempts to address ALL cases of outstanding warrents for war crimes. The outside world cannot expect Serbia to do so much to arrest Mladic but then put up obstacles when she tries to arrst another alleged war criminal. Lets have some fair balance here surely?

bganon: Ceku attended the First International Congress of Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration in the city of Cartagena. Try Google and u can find more info about.

Blero thanks for the reply.
Do you know his interest?
Was he only called as a former paramilitary?
Thats not a trick question. I'm assuming that Kosovo does not have any weapons on display, nor can he buy weapons for Kosovo forces.

I can't imagine another reason why he would be at such a conference.

I think the real question is, what is Ceku doing in Colombia?
(Dragan, Toronto, 7 May 2009 11:52)

Probably doing a spot of bird watching.

blero

What is Ceku doing in Columbia?
Surely this is the question that should be posed?
(bganon, 6 May 2009 23:16)

Bganon,
Çeku took part in an international arms conference (he was the first speaker in the conference).

Now the other question is: where is Mladic and countless other war criminals?
maliq

Mladic is probably hiding in some cave in Montenegro. When it comes to the rest of the wanted war criminals they are now politicians in office in Pristina.

Peggy

Are they in Serbia? And if so, is it because they like raki?
(maliq, 7 May 2009 00:37)

What's raki?

Serbia is cleaning house and arresting their criminals. What is your Pristina doing?
Sending theirs to pick up more stock?

haha

do you think for a second that croatia will allow this to happen even if kosovo and columbia agree after all what he did in croatia and kosovo.

Few years ago Mr. Tadic and even the "God" himself Mr. Kostunica, were willing to kiss Mr. Ceku in the toes during their "vacations/negotiations" in Vienna. Why couldn't they do it then. And now they want to arrest him?! Poor Serbian people for these leaders.

Unfortunately Colombia's officials are nothing but a puppet of the United States, so an extradition will be very unlikely! You all have to remember that other criminals like Ante Gotovina used to live in Colombia, where he recruit some locals to participate in the Croatian War. When I lived in the U.S around 1998 i found very interesting that some Colombians there had Croatian citizenship few years later I found out why!

"Just tie his hands and put a bag over his head, and send this terrorist directly to MUP building in Beograd." It looks like you have some experience how to deal with "war criminals", let me guess...Croatia, Bosnia & Kosovo.

This would be Serbia's worst nightmare: Kiss visas and EU goodbye. France, Germany and especially UK isn't going to buy the Slobodan Milosevic warrants.

Bes

Judging by the fact that Serbia needs to deal with real war criminals in Serbia, this raport from B92 is pointless.
I'm sure that Çeku is relaxing in some swankey hotel with a mojito! At the end of the day he can always rely on his old pal Wesley Clark for any help with fake Serbian Interpol arrest warrents.

What could he be doing in Columbia? Hmmmm we'll see when more recognitions come from that end of the world!

Sleep tight guys, I'm sure Çeku is!

This is one more proof of the UNMIK inefficiency.

For 10 years they didn't manage to get rid Interpol data base from these stupid Serbian arrest requests.

UNMIK was in charge of Kosova until last year and UNMIK should be the one to issue the international arrest requests for the citizens of Kosova not Serbia this is what 1244 says.

This is one more desperate and cheap try of Serbia to arrest KLA leaders, the same one that despite the overwhelm fire power that Serbia had still didn't manage to defeat them in a such unequal war.

it could be that he ends up where he belongs - behind bars.

How sweet it would be if Columbia gives him up to Srbija but knowing the American empires clout in that country I doubt it they will protect their own.

Judging by destination and knowing what is the most profitable branch of economy albanians are involved in it must have been a business travel for Ceku.

miri

Yet again what Dacic is saying is: "We would love to arrest General Ceku but there is nothing we can do about it. We are simply too weak to be serious about it."

Is there a common sense Serb that would be ashamed for this theatrical farse?

veki

As far as I am concerned Ivica Dacic is doing his job fine.I am sure he maintains excellent relation with the Interpol.
The Colombia should arrest this war criminal first and only afterwards figure out how to extradict him.
