EULEX police have yet again used tear gas to break up Serb protests in the northern Kosovska Mitrovica suburb of Brđani.

“Both sides need to find peaceful solutions though talks”
You gotta love the guy and his comment.
Could someone remind of the time (since 1999) when something was resolved though talks where Serbs weren’t the only side asked to make concessions? I must admit that negotiations or talks work only for Albanians. They just have to show up while Serbs are the ones that need to make concessions.
Unfortunately, Serbs in Kosovo are left with no options. Sooner or later Albanian side will prevail and it will be done as they have planned. Those few remaining Serbs in Kosovo will eventually pack up their few remaining things, sell their property for next to nothing and move to Serbia.
This is result of failed Milosevic politics and it is unfortunate that our fellow Serbs in Kosovo are paying this heavy, heavy price.
God speed!

the right to return is a fondamental right. For serbs And for Albanian.
And the right to return for albanians to their properties in nish toplice pirot vranje was an obligation for Serbia too, according to the treaty of lausanne...
So albanians should ask too the right to return to be respected by serbian side!

“EULEX calls for restraint from both sides, Serbs and Albanians, and believes that this issue can only be solved by both sides through negotiations and dialogue”

yeah, but that was needed during the status talk as well, but why should one side show restraint when they know they have support from the most powerful country on planet. it turned out that the most powerful country on planet is not as powerful as they thought, though, so conflicts like this will continue.

Of course they need to uphold order. The Serbs know that there would be no chance of partitioning if Albanians are to return to their homes. Majority of the Serbs in this region are the ones who have settled there from other parts of Kosovo after '99.

It looks like Serbs have a green light to return to their homes in Kosovo, since the EULEX official said they would be protected if they were to return. Thus, I urge a mass return of Serbs and let's see if Albanians try anything.

"Both communities need to try and find a peaceful solution, through talks,” said the spokesman.

Oh! So, now, all of the sudden, there can only be a solution if the two sides talk. Why not force one side to accept the demands of the other side? If they refuse start bombing the hell out of them. It worked so well when deciding Kosovos status. If America and the UK want's a solution start by revoking your illegal recognition and make the two sides negotiate a REAL solution and not one that is supported by 56 countries and opposed by the remaining.

Noticeable absence of any comments from Tadic or his government. In fact he said EULEX is new and deserves support.

I don't know how many Serbs know but Djindic was going to make a deal: a face saving border adjustment (very little land) and full recognition in exchange for EU express. Now, many years later Serbia is back at zero and no EU.
