Clearly Kosovo is serbian land not their land. I cant go to my neighbour move in on his property and say this is mine and ill do what I want with it.

Are you talking about Israel???

No idea as to whether anyone said that & would doubt the provinence of such a post without a credible source.

Fact is Kosovska Mitrovica south of the Ibar has been 'ethnically cleansed' of serbs. So why would any serb buy a house in an area where they would be persecuted?

And why would they attack romanians when Romania is one of only 5 european countries that have refused to recognise K-albanian UDI?

On the other hand it was romanian police in UNMIK who killed those 2 K-albanian protestors in pristina a couple of years ago.

Like I said, perp(s) was/were more than likely K-albanian.

Why should these people not be allowed to build their houses in their land (any takers???)?

"Given that southern part is exclusively K-albanian, & that romanian's were targeted, the obvious assumption to make is that the perp's were K-albanian. "

Congrats to EULEX and KPS, for keeping their calm and acting profesionally.

However, I am sure that any of the civilians, EULEX and KPS personel where not in any direct danger, as the person(s) in charge should be imediately arrested.

Curious comments from the K-albanian camp above.

Article is about molotov cocktails thrown at a romanian contingent of EULEX in the southern part of the town, perpetrator's unknown to the KPS.

Given that southern part is exclusively K-albanian, & that romanian's were targeted, the obvious assumption to make is that the perp's were K-albanian.

Am I missing something here?

"Serbs are welcome to move to the south too. They have all rights to move back to their houses and rebuilt them. And no one is stoping them but when they move back they wawe with serbian flags and call Kosovo serbian. That is not fair because we albanians don't call Kosovo albanian. We only care about everyday life and serbs think politicaly."

Demi, let's dispense with the self-righteousnes because enough Serbs think exactly like you, but it doesn't make them right either. Albanians throughout Serbia fly the Albanian flag and would not really be all that upset if Presevo et al were to break away. Enough Albanians refer to Presevo as "Eastern Kosovo".

So while it's great you have no problem with Serbs living anywhere, you're going to have to realize they're going to fly the Serbian flag, and say "Kosovo je Srbija" or "Ovo je Srbija" or whatever, since Albanians do the same, and have done the same since at least 1981.

If everybody agreed to live under the same state and fly the same flag as you suggest, Serbia, or even Yugoslavia, would never have fragmented.

Why should these people not be allowed to build their houses in their land (any takers???)?
(blero, 1 May 2009 12:54)
--
Because that privilege has not been extended to the Serbians. That is the point here, when they can start restoring their houses South of the Ibar then we have a compromise, right? Why would one side or the other start attacking when it also compromises the safety of their own people on the other side?

There are hundreds of thousands of Serbian refugees from Kosovo. Don't you think someone should do something about that instead? EULEX, KFOR and the UN have all shown how immature they are regarding Kosovo. It's the "my stick is bigger than yours" mentality so we are not going to get stability until these people grow up and start real negotiations.

blero

They would be allowd when 250.000 serbs are allowd to go back to their homes. This is one way traffic. Albanians rebuilding but not the serbs, and please don't say that serbs can go back anytime they want because you know they can't. Serbs should continue to resist this injustice and let the world know the ethnic clensing that is taking place. Get more albos into the north. That way serbs will leave and you can claim victory without having seeing the territory partitioned. I hope with all my heart we will continue this resistance and I support it 100%.

Alban

An open provocation. Maybe they are expecting the other side to react? Let's hope civilians keep their calm, let KPS, EULEX, KFOR and ultimately Kosovo Sec Forces do their jobs.

Stop with the provocations, accept that Kosovo can never be independent and start talking!
(Zoran, 1 May 2009 10:36)

From my angle (funny enough in Kosovo there seem to be always two angles) the only provocation I can see in this instance is the provocation that 100 (or so) nationalists are doing (you guess who am I referring to).
Zoran, since you seem to be in negotiations mood explain me this:
Why should these people not be allowed to build their houses in their land (any takers???)?

This shows what kind of protest it is. 100 youngsters running around and attacking people inluding police. IF serbs are unhappy then why only 100 protesting ? Whre is the rest of the unhappy serbs ? maybee at work or at everyday life and they dont care about some albanians moving back where they have lived before. This 100 protesters is young kids with warm blood thinking they can change somthing. They will not succed.

Zoran

pre 15 godina

Since EULEX's arrival, it sure has caused further instability in the province. First by releasing the bus bomber who murdered dozens, forcing the reconstruction of Albanian houses and quite simply avoiding any kind of negotiations with relevant parties.

Negotiations are the only way to achieve prolonged peace. Stop with the provocations, accept that Kosovo can never be independent and start talking!

Demi

If all serbs in N.mitrovica is unhappy with the albanians rebuilding their houses then why is there only 100 youngsters ''protesting'' ? And they are not protesting but showing signs of huliganism and violence. Can we still call them protesters thought they run the hills and trying to attack the albanian workers rebuilding peoples houses ?

This is nothing but some youngsters having no job and nothing to do. They trying to show some patroism and wants to scare the albanians with radical messuers. This is somthing that wont work because our state Kosovo is more professional and strong enough to handle this kids.

Serbs are welcome to move to the south too. They have all rights to move back to their houses and rebuilt them. And no one is stoping them but when they move back they wawe with serbian flags and call Kosovo serbian. That is not fair because we albanians don't call Kosovo albanian. We only care about everyday life and serbs think politicaly.

The solution is eazy: Reconize the state of Kosovo and you can live freely in both south and north Kosovo. But if you still say Kosovo je Srbija then you have no place in Kosovo.
