Yesterday I commented on another article that the B92 posted about how the government reports that the SAA has brought prosperity and stability.

(Even though we all know that the SAA is a dead letter)

any how my comments were as follows:

"I am deeply disappointed by this article it does not take into account the opinions of experts, ngos trade unions or opposition groups. It is simply a glowing summary of a Government document that congratulates itself is completely out of touch with the experience of the residents of Serbia and there is absolutely no context offered by B92."

The same rings true for this article. Is the B92 a news agency or soap box for the government?

Mr Cvetkovic if you want to get the economy moving then don't raise VAT, cut it instead. Raising VAT will be like putting a stake through the heart of the economy. Also, cut govt expenditure and red tape but more importantly, start breaking up the retaiol monopolies in Serbia. When you do this you'll see a drop in prices and more people willing to spend their cash.
