Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia will also join NATO in the future.

NATO is just about finished. How can Serbia benefit from joining that corrupt and imperialistic organisation which is nearing it's use by date?
EU will eventually happen but then again how will these eager Balkan countries benefit when the strings are being pulled by only a few elite countries? They all look out for themselves and a way to control the other ones.

Mircea,

For your job and position EU is probably a great blessing. In my position it is of much less benefit, not sure about the degree of benefit.
I am EU citizen and live in EU - but normally do not even use EU passport.

I benefit from being American and from my contacts to Serbia much more than from EU.

Not everyone is the same. I can underscore again, in my business America is light years ahead of EU and only Russia has some chances. And at the same time in what I am doing both (USA and RU) highly depend on China, Taiwan and to a lesser degree on Israel. EU as driving force is non-existing for us. But obviously everyone is different. I fully understand, some people being EU-enthusiastic. I am to - but to a very-very tiny degree.

As I say, EU is bad - but everything else what can be is much worse.

hmm,

I am Romanian. My country, Romania, has benefited from the EU's Structural Funds and has attracted more foreign direct investment since it joined the EU.

I am working as project manager for a multinational company in Romania.

last month you stated that Serbia wasn't ready to apply.

CG,

You Serbs should forget about Russia and follow the example of your neighbours. Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Croatia are all members of NATO.

Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia will also join NATO in the future.

Mircea

Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania have submitted their application for EU membership.

I think that Serbia should also apply for EU membership as soon as possible.

Believe me,they would eat our you know what just to get Serbia in the EU,it is at the crossroads of the Balkans and the last Russian ally(except Bulgaria and we know from history how fast Rumanians and Bulgarians can change their allies...)
We should enhance our relations with Russia and say, look please some billions of dollars of help for our infrastructure or Russian missilies in Serbia etc.
We should play them like on the bazar...
