I can't believe that any Serb would go to Croatia, doesn't matter what reason, be it business, vacation etc... There is no excuse.
As mentioned previously the Croatian puppets were worse than the Nazis.

Sadly, very few people in my country ever heard of Croatia's Jasenovac Concentration Camp.

That's now going to change.

As a born Catholic, I can say that the Vatican 'authorities' really have an awful lot to answer for.
Repentance and making amends really should be practised before being preached.

The Jasenovac concentration camp was so brutal it even made Nazi SS officers sick. Around 800,000 people were massacred there and now the memorial claims it is only 75,000.
Sending a Serbian representative there is yet another mistake by this yellow government. Let's not kid ourselves here people. The Nazi Ustashe are very popular in Croatia, why do you think they filled Maksimir with 60,000 fans doing the sieg heil?

Croats, as you can see, are proud of their Nazi Ustashe past. They have never apologized, and have never been punished for their horrible crimes. Germany and the rest of the EU does not even care that they have completely cleansed their country of Serbs. I do not want to be friends with such a country, do not want to trade with them, do not want to go there, and do not want anything to do with them. I hope that more Serbs wake up and stop giving our enemies money. If we are so naive to be friendly with such countries, then we really do deserve what we get.

Jasenovac must never be forgotten and should remind us who the Croats are and what they are stand for. And we Serbs should finally begin to learn from the history and realise that the Croats cannot be trusted ever on any issue.

May the souls of the victims rest in peace.

I recommend book "Crimes in the Jasenovac camp" published by Besjeda, Banja luka,2000.

This camp was created willing and the acts commited their were beyond the level of parallel goings on in Germany, there was no extra pressure exerted on Croatian people, they could have rebelled against a hilter sympathetic government just as the Serbs did, however they chose not to. It was opportunistic and blood-thirsty, but we see that history repeats itself as in the early 90's when Croatia under a govenment (Franjo and friends) who would have enjoyed the reopening of the camp decided to rule over a significant number of Serbs, of course this is farcical since the Serbs thought that they had just got away from the Ustasa ghost. So these "Croatian Serbs" rebelled and were labelled separatists and aggresors for simply choosing not to live under a nazi-remake, im sorry but anyone knows that when you touch the fire and its hot you dont but your hand in it again.
And all this is in the past now and people should have moved on even though Croatia's opportunistic behaviours has devastated ancient Serb lands of Krajina. But still they cannot move on; they must cover up and play down numbers of deaths in an attempt to save face? Perhaps they should understand that in the process they are insulting Serbs and creating a permanent rift.
Serbs will not forget and will always strive to correct what has happened no nation in this world has completely clean hands but Croatia's are very bloody and I believe it is time someone wash them.

I hope Cvetkovic is not there merely to commerate the break out and exchange a few pleasantries with Mesic.
Jasenovac was the physical legacy of the Ustashe movement. The rest of the story are the thousands upon thousands of Serbs massacred in the most bestial manner which made Kordun Banja and Lika run with blood in the early 1940s not forgetting Serb parts of Bosnia which witnessed dreadful slaughters because they were Serbs.
To give one example Suvaja in Lika a Serb village had over 200 people massacred and the village priest bore witness to his wife's unborn child having their child ripped out of her. These massacres were those of many which whipped the Serbs in a frenzy until they led the Serb uprisings against the Ustashe in July 1941 in Srb and Serb Bosnia at Drvar and Petrovac.
Wonder if Mesic will apologise to Cvetkovic and the Serb people like his leader Tadic did to the Croats for the last war.Don't count on it!! The Ustashe are popular today amongst many Croats and have been rehabilitated as national fighters and heroes.

This is just another BIG reason why Serbia and Croatia will never be "close" allies. Croatia, and it's Catholic Church, simply go "through the motions" of acknowledgement and remorse, with no true acceptance of guilt for what their forefathers did against the Serbian people during World War II. Yes, the original camp was destroyed, then turned into a bird santuary- then a memorial Church and spomenik was built by the Serbs, again to be destroyed by Croats. And now, to show the world how Croatia is accepting the "sins of it's past", a small "token-memorial" was erected by Croatia, to "acknowledge" Jasenovac camp, which was the second most brutal concentration/killing camp in WW2 only behind Auswicz. In the meantime, Croatia is still trying to "cover up" it's horrendous Ustasi history so as to become "accepted" into th EU. During wartimes, every nation commits sins and abuses- but Jasenovac was more of a function of ridding Croatia of much of it's unwanted Serb population, coupled with official Ustase directives to export Serbs and to convert Serbs to the Catholic Church (thereby eventually turning Serbs into Croats). THESE are the facts- and yet the movement to distort or simply hide these documented facts still goes on by Croatia 60 years later. True reconciliation between Croatia and Serbia will never occur until Croatians accept and remorse their Ustase past as Germany did with their Nazi past.
