Close cooperation between the EU and Serbia is needed in tackling the economic crisis, say Javier Solana and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić.

The statement adds that Solana and Jeremić supported good cooperation between the EU and Serbia regarding Kosovo, including cooperation with the EULEX mission.
Oh, to have been a fly on the wall at that meeting. Wondered if they discussed Solana's pet EU project -Kosovo.

no progress in EU, not even negotiations with Serbia until the Kosova problem is solved. EPs are about to issue a statement on that, and no using of EU to settle Balkan scores (No blocking of others!) Serbia has to convince 22, Kosova 5 and it has US, France, Germany, Italy and UK in its corner.
You can screw Kosova, but you will screw yourself 10X more.

From a public relations perspective, why do DS leaders allow themselves to be photographed gladhanding with Serbia's attackers. Did anyone see the Tadic Birthday party photo last week-and now this?
What does the average person on the street in Serbia think of Schroder and Solana? And why is the governments perspective so much so different than that of the average person?

Has the fact been forgotten that the EU's NATO members bombed the hell out of Serbia only a decade ago?
As well as causing serious human suffeing, the Serbian economy took an awful pounding.
Mr. Solana should be talking about restitution, compensation and making amends to Serbia.
Also, an apology for breaking International Law and urging others to do likewise might be offered as well.

The EU bombs Serbia and install measures to degrade Serbia's economy.
Now Serbia is on it's knees begging for financial handouts.
Bombs and war lead to economic prosperity for all EU members and alliances, but Serbia.
So far Serbia has received plenty of promises and pats on the back.
But, pats on the back don't sustain your hunger in these tough economic times.
